can't list items. you know about the problem everyone is having since its on your general message boards. custom item specifics. eBay tells me I have not restrictions so this should not be a problem. they say Vendio is causing this. I've never used custom items specifics and no one does in my categories.
also, the categories i'm using don't use custom item specifics. so what is going on? Why is Vendio causing this?

you are right, the problem lays at Vendio. I have re-listed some items (stamps) directly from eBay without any problems. The only solution I have discovered sofar is that I will set custom specific value at Vendio to "-" in a drop-down list. This made listing possible using Vendio (however listings at eBay look stupid with a condition "-".

I have never listed directly at ebay. Guess I might have to look at it.
I guess that Vendio has to either turn on or turn off this requirement for everyone, and can't make requiring this category specific. There are a ton of categories on eBay and only a few are on the list.
If this is the case then why didn't vendio see this coming. I've never used Item Categories and don't know the first thing about it.
We are currently working with eBay to discover the root cause of the errors, which appear to be occurring in categories in which custom item specifics are not required. We believe this will be corrected quickly, but in the meantime you can work around the problem by deleting all item specifics values and entering them instead in custom item specifics. If you do an eBay preview, you should be able to tell whether the item will generate an error before you try launching it.
Thank you for your patience while we continue to work with eBay on this.
***********************************************
As previously announced, eBay is moving away from item attributes (item specifics) to custom item specifics, which are now required in some categories. As of 10/26/11, we are receiving reports of custom item specifics related errors. It appears that eBay has begun requiring this in more categories. If you are receiving an error that indicates the category you are listing in requires custom item specifics, you will need to edit the item and move the values in item specifics to the custom item specifics fields.
Please note that certain values are required in custom item specifics, depending on the category. Please see eBay's announcement regarding custom item specifics for more information on affected categories.
