Does anyone use Stamps.com? It appears that Stamps.com provides a SCAN form which your mailman can scan that will recognize and show as accepted - 1st Class Mail both domestic and international.
The SCAN form would be great when mailing 1st Class International as the buyer would see that their purchase was at least mailed.
Currently, if you leave 1st Class International for the mailman, it does not show as being mailed. The mail has to be taken to the post office to show as being mailed.

I use stamps.com, love it, but I don't use the scanform.
I just dropall of it at the mail drop at my post office and check the tracking on line
They used to give a month trail period, check that and if it don't work you can cancel it.
I ship about 4-5 sales every day, some are international and even those I just put in the mail drop.

I use Ebay shipping and 4 hours ago I turned over 15 plus packages to my mailman, they are express mail, priority mail, first class mail domestic and overseas going to Greece,New Zealand,Russia,Australia,Israel and Holland.
I am sure she did not scan these packages, she just dropped them off at the post office.
Now I just checked some of them, some showed they are in transit, like the one going to Greece is just first class mail,it said in transit.
So you dont need stamps.com or your mail man scanning it,once it gets to the post office, they will scan and sent them to next stop,in our case it is a sort facility near the airport.

Bill,
I dont know what kind of buyers you have, but most do not inquire until weeks later, usually 2 weeks if they dont get their package.
What bothers me these days is that some overseas buyers will click on the DC number and see no progress shown and then they will say I did not get my package, can you track it?
Now it is hard to believe they wait 50,60 days to tell me they did not get their package,or are they playing a lottery game?
Especially when the package is a big one and/or an expensive one ?
Paypal requires the buyer to file item not received within 45 days after making payment, not 55 or 60 days or 100 days.
When I tell them I will call the post office which will trace the package thru their customs office, their post office and may be even their emplloyer and their local police,I never hear from them again !
Or when I emailed them the claims form and ask them to sign, they refuse.
What does that tell you??

I use ebay's labels as well and international do show up as in transit in my ebay. I don't think they ever show up as delivered.
If it's something of great value - I take it in and have it scanned.

But having it scanned at your local office does not mean it will be scanned at destination office for overseas package.
But back then when I was using the green customs sheet, one package to China(first class mail) shown scanned in CHINA as delivered.?
But this is an exception.
I see small USPS priority fixed rate box is 16.95,it was 13.25 before,it would be nice if it is scanned at destination.
I still dont understand why the post office is not making money,so we are not writing letters to each other, but we are sending packages instead,so instead of 44 cents first class,we are paying 1.64 for a 3 oz package.
There is no more slow boat to China, any package over 13 ounces would be sent USPS priority or express, and thats more money for the post office.
