I have many intl buyers and sometimes I will use the USPS priority fixed rate small box at 13.25,to expedite shipping but it is not trackable.
The priority fixed rate boxes which are trackable cost 34 or 45 dollars and thats too expensive,no one wants to pay that much for small itm.
But recently I found out express mail for light item can be as low as 26 dollars,so this is better than paying 35,45 if it is indeed trackable.
Does anyone here used express mail ?

Wait ,I just tried printing first class mail going to ISRAEL and there is no option for specifying registered mail on Ebay.
Do I have to go to USPS website to get registered mail?
How do you do it>?

Bill,
I must be doing something wrong.
I was at USPS website and tried 1 pound going to france, registered mail is 11.75 ,does not matter whether it is first class or priority.
11.75 just to get tracking aiint cheap !
Is there another way?

That is correct. However, the total cost of shipping by 1st Class Registered Mail is less than the Express Mail option you were considering.
There is $100 of insurance included, plus the security of delivery that outweighs any cost consideration.
I usually use Registered Mail when the total sale is $100 or more. The extra cost is included in the shipping coast that the buyer pays at checkout.
I've had no complaints yet. However, the transactions do not take place on eBay.

Registered mail 11.75 provides online tracking and $100 insurance, looks like it is good for shipping light weight item worth less than 100 dollars, using first class mail,so the total could just be 15-18 dollars.
It is still not cheap ,I may as well use the money to buy full insurance with U-PIC.
Do you have to take it to the post office ?

Yes. The package has to be sealed by the clerk at your local post office. When they take possession, it is placed in a locked drawer until it is shipped to the next location, where it is handled securely until further shipment.
Registered Mail is the most secure method of shipping to a customer. At delivery there is signature confirmation.

Thanks Bill,I live far from the post office,it would be a 30 miles round trip.
Next time when I ship the Hope Diamond,I will use registered mail.
I understand it is the preferred shipping method for precious metal dealers and jewelers.
