hwahwa: don't remove it from your store unless someone bids on it.What is the chance that it will sell at auction & from the store at the same time?? If and when someone bids on the item, then end the store listing.

Smart thinking Merrie. Even if someone bid and before you could end the store listing someone purchased it too, you could always just end the auction.

Do we have a choice?
Last time I listed it as auction,it is automatically removed from my store, but that was 1-2 years ago?

Hwahwa, yes, you have a choice. Do not send it to auction, just do sell a similar item. That way you have one in the store & auction. I do it all the time. Rarely have any conflicts since the sell through rate on auctions is low, esp this time since no free BIN.

Also, since the auction listing is FREE no matter the starting price. I sometimes list the auction item at a higher starting price so my store item looks more attractive. Since this promo goes for 7 days, you can even relist when it gets toward the end.

Wouldn't it be more logical to list the auction item a little lower than the store item to make the auction item seem more attractive, since the FVF is higher for the store item??
That's the way I work it anyway. Whenever an item goes in the store, I raise the price to cover the higher Final Value Fee. (Unless i decide I went a little overboard on the original listing price. . . it happens. LOL.)

Wgon... Depends if you have multiples & how quickly you want to sell the item, since the store is instant buyers might snap it up, where the auction lasts 7 days with no BIN.
Either way works depending on your agenda.

Good point; I always forget about multiples figuring into the equation since I don't have any.

merrie - if it wasn't a free listing day, how many do you think would have sold?
If it's 2 or 3 - these free listing days aren't really so free are they?
I think ebay is just trying to make that extra 20 cents per item they charge when everything goes back into your store.
Thanks again for the tip on how to save that fee.

hwahwa, I don't know how many I would have sold. Things are are very erratic this time of year. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. No money spent, just some time.

PS: since no BIN this time, people like to get things instantly. I was only going to go for the FREE listing, was not going to pay for any extras.
