I was attempting to print labels for a shipment to the UK. Item cost is $250, total paid $320 including shipping.
When I attempted to print a label on USPS website for Priority Mail, I am given a message that states No other services available, No Additional Insurance Available.
It appears USPS has eliminated these services for Intl Priority, but now is offered with USPS Express.
Paypal requires signature confirmation for items over $250, USPS Priority doesn't offer this. Now it has to be shipped Express Mail.
I am getting sick of feeling the squeeze from eBay, USPS, etc.... This is getting absurd. More fees, less services.

you are getting 70 dollars for shipping, why not find out if Express mail is feasible.
With registerd mail, you have to take it to the post office, cant do it online.

USPS priority medium and large fixed rate box include signature confirmation,it is the small box which does not.
Insurance like Bill said ,you can buy it from U-PIC.

Bill - ok. I called USPS. There is no option for registering packages above the Priority flat rate sizes even if I go to the post office.
hwa - Did that already. My partner packed too large of a box by about 10 inches even though it will fit safely in a much smaller box. So, I found a smaller box so that Express would be $76. I am not worried about $10 extra for shipping on this one. The current box makes shipping $170. I'll be downsizing to get that rate.
Still No Signature Confirmation options even with Express Mail... or so claims USPS.

The last time we went to the PO, the agent there (she is knowledgeable & lets us know of changes) told us of several contries where the PO will no longer offer tracking & insurance.

How do they deliver express mail?
I thought it has to be signed for?
If no signature confirmation is available, then you just have to rely on insurance to protect you from any item not received claim.
Let Paypal returns the money to them and you file claim with U-PIC or whoever you use.
I can understand why more Ebay sellers are not selling to overseas buyers, but some do have US address to consolidate their shipments.

Check DHL as well but I think USPS will be the cheapest.
I hate to stop selling international but it may come to that in the future.

That is the direction I am looking... at least for items valued over $150 (since the actual requirement is $250 including shipping).
Everyone is feeling the pinch. Higher costs, less services.

It looks like neither express mail or priority mail going overseas will need to be signed for.
This question is for Bill on registered mail-
If I take a big package to the post office instead of a letter, will the postal clerk accept it as registered mail?
Does the buyer sign for the package and if we ask, will USPS give us the signature ?
Is that signature good enough to protect us from charge back?
If it is good enough for PAYPAL,is it good enough for the buyer credit card issuer?
Last, have you been asked to prove delivery, and when you show them the registered mail signature, did it fly?
