Apparently there is a week of free listing on eBay for non-store owners. Did any of you get an official message or email? I had to find out from Ina's site. I plan on listing some but not happy to have missed out on a whole day! Guess I need to check the announcements first thing every day, it was posted there. They used to send out messages to us.

There have been multiple free listing days / weeks lately. I just keep checking announcements because lately I have not received any email notice from Ebay. Don't know whether this is intentional, to keep us on pur toes re announcements, or what.

My notices are not blocked & the last few free days / week, I have received no email. It is on the bottom of your seller page. There have been a lot lately every few weeks. I just keep checking the announcements.

My notices are not blocked either, but I have not received any FLD emails in over a year. I get other eBay notices. Just not the ones for FLDs.
I too have to check the announcements everyday to not miss them.

It looks like the email notifications of FLD's are sent to people who, like me, haven't signed into their seller account for awhile. I get regular emails suggesting I buy or sell something.

We get 50 free listings per seller ID,so I dont understand why Ebay has to promote free listings?
The sell thru rate is so poor these days, all we end up doing is relisting what we cant sell?

I believe the FLD's would allow sellers to list more than the standard 50 items.

Non store sellers get the standard 50 free listings per month with free BIN, plus these free listing days / week. These offers have been promoted almost every other week.

Some times there is a limit on the FLDs,(50,000 once) right now, no limit.

So I'm beginning to think that ebay doesn't want us to have stores anymore??
I think what they may be doing is trying to get new sellers. Maybe too many old timers are dropping off.

All these free auction listings dont seem to hurt the store,Ebay must have a way to tweak its search just like they did with the TRS items.

Doesn't really matter to some people if the sell through rate is rotten. It is free to list & hope springs eternal!!

Here is a list of FLDs for the past few months:

7/11 - 17 nonstore sellers

6/19 all sellers
6/4 -6 nonstore
5/16 all
5/7-13 only store owners limit of 50,000

Just thought you might be interested, so keep looking at announcements...

If you find a job paying you 500,000 a year, would you still be sitting in front of your PC relisting and relisting?

Lost?? What!! If I had a job paying half a million, I would not be selling on Ebay at all, hopefully I would be working my tail off earning that money. I have no idea what you mean or what your point is.

Topic is "free listing on Ebay"

Lost, duh! If somepne has a job paying half a million a year, I would hope they would have better things to do than relist over & over & they don't need to hope, they have made it!

It isn't really free if you spend your time photographing, editing photos, creating and launching auctions... only to have them not sell or sell for next to nothing. There is nothing more frustrating than spending hours on listings only to sell for nothing.

eBay is fishing for sellers who are cleaning out the clutter. You can bet that whenever eBay is running these freebies, it is because there are less listings and less buyers.

only certain products sell strong year round.

Since the listing is free no matter the starting price, never list low. Better not to sell than to sell gor next to nothing.

dont forget they can return the item in 14 days !
If something does not sell after relisting for 3-6 times,a seller should be astute enough to mark it down so it will sell, not dance around in rose garden !

"If something does not sell after relisting for 3-6 times,a seller should be astute enough to mark it down so it will sell, not dance around in rose garden!"

lost- you have said in previous threads that you use Good Til' Canceled and that some people watch your item for months, or even a year until it sells and then contact you wanting to know if they can still purchase it.

i find it a bit ironic that you would suggest sellers mark their items down after 3-6 listing attempts... yet you will keep the same item on eBay forever until it sells. there are many reasons why an item may or may not sell on eBay.

i am finding sales quite scarce at the moment. a few trickling in here and there. it is the summertime blues for ebay sales. i could list the same item month after month and not sell it until the holidays roll around. you just never know when it will sell.

additionally, many sellers prefer to have the appearance of a professional seller by having more listings available.

i remember back in the early eBay days how people considered pro sellers as negative. i received a feedback once from a buyer who blamed me for him dropping the glass part of the item because I wrapped it in bubble and it was slippery (yes, go figure). He left me negative feedback that stated I was an "eBay mill" suggesting that all i do is churn out hundreds of listings... as if that was bad.
