I just purchased a cell phone battery with back cover. In the listing it did not state that I could not use my current phone protector case on it.

This battery was an extended life battery and I was unaware that it came with a "special" battery cover (they call it a case) for the phone because the phone required a deeper compartment for the battery to fit. I had trouble with the battery fitting in the compartment as it was, but when I placed the back cover on it my case would not wrap around the phone. I have 3 different protective covers I use.

The seller terms were $16.99 with free shipping, 30 day money back guarantee, buyer pays return shipping. I returned it on Saturday and today I received a refund for $14.30.

No mention of a restocking fee, no mention of charging the buyer for the original shipping fees, just that the buyer was responsible for return shipping.

Am I right in expecting the $2.69 balance? As a seller, I would simply refund the full amount to the buyer. I have had buyers ask to refund their return shipping cost, which I have not done unless it was an obvious error on my part.

well,he is losing money on shipping,he should have specified a restocking fee.

that's what I thought too. i have always issued a refund including shipping no matter the problem no questions asked. I do state in my listings, "no returns" but if someone is dissatisfied I will take it back to avoid any problems.

I was a bit surprised by not getting the $16.99 refund considering it wasn't mentioned in the listing anywhere. I emailed them and will see what they say.

The difference is $2.69 which is about what it cost me to return the package too. So, this seller advertises that they take returns, but the buyer pays for return and now that costs me double?
