What about the new photo requirements on ebay? Minimum of 500 pixes wides side? How will this effect your image hosting on vendio?

don't use vendio hosting. no need since ebay raised their photo hosting to 12 pics.

image quality is important. i hate looking at images that won't enlarge, especially if there are important details not visible in a smaller image.

very happy eBay is raising the bar on photo quality.

Hello,

Unless people are going nuts with cropping software or taking pictures with digital camera's made prior to the Sony Mavica's with the floppy disc's - their pictures are already going to meet this requirement.

While eBay does still compress images upload upload, like many 3rd party programs still do today, the dimensions (how many pixels wide/high) are usually not cut down anywhere near this requirement.

Your Vendio images will remain at their full size and uncompressed in your item descriptions - while eBay will show buyers their copy of those photo's in the upper left corner of the listing page and in the photo sections of their mobile apps.

Regards,
Chris

You would think so but.

Ebay Item number: 350131946738 and many others

http://imagehost.vendio.com/preview/no/nostod/DSC00721A.JPG

this photo is 640 x 480 pixels

after ebay gets it from Vendio it is somehow being reduced to 250 x 333 pixels for the picture in the upper left corner , the one t they want to be at least 500 pixels on one side

I am then getting a message telling me my photo is too small

so how does this get fixed.

So how do you use SMPro to write up and upload your listings and use ebay for the pictures?

Hello,

nostod - the listing in question was submitted to eBay in January of 2009 as Good Till Cancelled.

If you terminate the listing and post it anew from Vendio, so we can submit the photo to eBay using the current methods - they will copy it to their own photo hosting and use it at it's full original size.

onceoza - Any listings uploaded to eBay currently automatically have their photo's sent also into the eBay picture service. No specific actions or settings are required/available for users to control this action. Simply submitting an item TO eBay FROM Vendio will trigger this automatically.

Hi Chris,

I'm trying to avoid going up to the next price level for picture storage. Since ebay now allows 12 pictures, I wouldn't have to use Vendio for pictures anymore, just listings and auction management.

Hello onceoza,

Even if you went up to the next level plan you wouldn't be paying anything for image hosting because of the plans you are enrolled in. This would give you double the image hosting storage your using currently without having any impact on your monthly statement.

Chris

So is there a way to enlarge the photos in Vendio without resubmitting?

In other words if you don't have all the photos at the top of the page, you stand to lose your photos?

Based on the Vendio responses, I figured all my photos would be okay, but using the site posted on the eBay Outlook thread, I find that I have 25 items with photos that are too small.
The advice given to nostod seems to apply at first glance, as many are older listings, BUT some are new listings so I am at a loss on how to comply.

Any advice? I just don't know how to fix them without taking all new pix.

Also: when I check "properties" on the photo within the Vendio template, and it is below 500, does it matter that when supersized the properties change to over 500? Does that mean they are really okay???
