I just had to share this with everyone. The article is published in the May 2013 issue of Internet Retailer.

"Ebay is Investing Heavily in Emerging Markets, and it's Starting with Russia"

Donahue was on TV last month and he did mention Ebay is going to Russia.
I also read somewhere the Russian post office is overwhelmed by packages coming from overseas, now I wonder where do the Russians buy these overseas packages?
My experience with shipping to Russia is not good, twice scammed and once the label is to small, they cant read,so they said they are returning it,I never receive the package back.
On Ebay seller central, there is a thread on shipping to Russia, plenty of scam and theft inside and outside the Russian postal system,so if you are selling to Russia, make sure you insure the package.

I remember a few years ago there was a pay for music website based in Russia. They charged about 19-29 cents per song.

A friend of mine (who is really gullible) sent me the link. I told her I wouldn't trust anything out of Russia. She never once considered the fraud.

Amazing how many people never consider this problem.

The buyer has less to lose with Paypal/eBay policies on their side than do sellers. There should be some risk responsibility on people from Russia or anywhere else where fraud is rampant if they want to order something. I understand its not their fault they live in a country that this happens in, but at least share in the risk.

No,the customer using a credit card never have to share the risk,it is our job to deliver the goods in good order.
Overseas credit card chargeback can take anywhere from 6 weeks to 9 months!
The only party I can think of who would share our risk is the insurance company.
