I have a chest with key on eBay. I get this email:
"I bought one of these locked chests and have been unable to open it. Would you consider having your key duplicated for me? I would gladly pay the cost for duplication plus shipping. Thanks for your consideration."

That is a very gutty request. I sure would not do it, she should go back to the person who sold it to her. How likely is it your key would fit her chest anyway?

very likely for it to fit. they are actually smaller replicas of larger chests, just in a box form, about 9"L. they were salesman samples and the keys were universal.
I did send her an email and told her how much it would cost and included my cost for time. No response.
I guess some people just want others to do their work for them.
Also had another eBayer who contacted me about a rare chair I had on eBay. I had gone through the trouble of contacting the archivist at the company to verify the chair and the original designer from the early 1970's. In my listing I state that I have the email from the company stating the history and confirming the designer.
This person who contacted me about the chair tells me they have the same chair, but in a different color and asked if I would forward them the email. Message went straight into my trash.
Unbelievable!
