What is the secret to relisting items on ebay and changing the photos to comply?
I first went and found the photos that didn't comply and resized them to 500 pixels wide. I saved them in a folder ( temp ) and then deleted the old photos from the original folder and deleted them from sales manager. I then transfered them into the orignal folder with the same names and dragged them into the sales manager. I syned the program. I then went to unsold items and hit relist and edited the item uploading the new photos. I relisted the item and all the photos come up as the same old ones and non complying. I even when into my inventory and took out the old photos and made a new listing with the new photos that by the way all say 500 or more pixes in width and when the go on ebay some are less than 500 and are even like that in the description photos not just in the galley photos at the top left in the listing. Is there a glitch in syncing the new photos with vendio? Please help 1000's of photos and not much time.
Remember that posting these into the services forums where we monitor the threads will get quicker replies, as we don't always check the other message boards here.(as often)
The way you described it - it should have worked.
If you delete the original picture from your Vendio account and then upload a new one with the same exact filename as the original one, then your 'new' photo should be the one that is used since the old one no longer exists.
Id try previewing the item prior to relist to be sure the images your seeing in the preview are meeting the new eBay requirements.
If you do this and don't see the new photo, let us know the title of the item in your pending section so we can review it with you and offer assistance.
Knowing an item number for a listing where you already did this and weren't successful might help us help you track down any potential issues with your process.

eBay's system may also be looking at picture quality, not just dimensions. Increasing pixels only enlarges the image, while at the same time it also decreases the clarity of the item.

I just relisted a item, first resized the original photos, then deleted them and put the new ones on manager and re sync them. I then relisted the item checking the photos in manager and it said and stills says they are all 500 pixels in width. But one photo 3835 is too small and I will have to use ebay to upload it again. item no. 400481397206. I hope you can find out what is going on as this has happen to more than one photo in a series of photos for other items.

I even tried to upload from my hard drive new resized photos and the came up in the preview the original sizes again under 500 pixels. I emptyied my cache, I deleted the photos and did them again and still in quick preview they came up smaller again? I hate to try uploading them to ebay and only some or none go up as they say in the Sales manager all over 500 wide. The item I'm trying to relist is 151040110978

Shag is right, increasing the pixel makes the picture look crude and grainy.
So what is the solution, take new photos?
600x480 is still too small for mobile phone shoppers.

I looked at your photos and when looking at the first one, what I see is heavily pixelated. Because your items have many details, you really need to set your camera at a larger format size. I use 2MB to meet eBay guidelines.
I'm sorry to say, but simply resizing a smaller photo isn't going to help. Trust me, I wish that it worked that way, as it would make my life much easier.
If buyers are paying $200 plus for one of your pieces, the quality of the photos should match the quality of the item.
You can't improve the quality of a photo by simply enlarging it. If you have 24,000 pixels in an image (4 x 6) and you decide you want a larger image, you still only have 24,000 pixels. The pixels just get larger and the photo looks fuzzy or pixelated when enlarged.
I looked at some of your other listings and see similar issues with the photos. Item #151043269534. Though the images appear somewhat clear, the zoom feature doesn't work because the photos are too small.
What you need are NEW photos that are the correct size (or larger) to begin with. You sell some beautiful pieces that are costly to the buyer and they want to see up close details.
Another issue that is affecting the image size is your cropping. You are reducing your file size by as much as 60% when you crop so much. Any cropping will reduce the pixel size and isn't too pleasing from a visual standpoint. It feels like you are hiding something and you are losing the contrast that helps make your item contrast against the background. I can understand cropping excessive dead space, but you should try to keep your images close to a standard layout, like a 4 x 6, 5 x 7, 8 x 10.
If you would like other suggestions, I would be willing to offer them to help improve your images. I have been a photographer for longer than I have sold on eBay. I photograph from our studio and take my images home to edit and do our listings. Nothing more frustrating than discovering a series of blurry photos or off lighting. I wish they would measure photos in good old inches or even metric, I have no clue how big or small 640 by 800 pixels is.
