Not sure if many people are aware, but there are some benefits of getting your own Fed Ex account over just using eBay to print Fed Ex labels.
We have two fed ex accounts. One we get points towards gift cards, etc. The second we earn airline miles. The first account gets better rates for heavier packages, the second account we use for shipping smalls (under 10 pounds).
Additionally, Fedex.com offers free Shipping Manager which also has an Integration feature that allows you to choose which items to ship from eBay or Amazon sales directly in the Fed Ex site. That way you don't have to manually enter in name, address, etc. Just the weight, dimensions and shipping method. It will also automatically update the tracking info for each item in eBay.
Though eBay's system is convenient, I find this to be equally as easy to manage things and get a few perks in the deal. Plus I like that Fed Ex bills our account when the package is delivered, not at the end of the month with your eBay billing cycle.

one other thing that is nice is that you can contact Fed Ex directly if you have an issue with a charge or problem with a shipment.

Fed Exp is expensive, compared with USPS.
With Fed Exo intl,if you have an account with them, they will charge you local fuel charge.
If you ship Fed Exp via USPS Global Express Guarantee,it is not just cheaper, but it also cannot charge you local fuel charge.
