Wouldn't it be nice if we valued a quarter based on inflation?

For example, a 1970 quarter would actually be worth $1.52 in 2013. Imagine the madness this would cause!!!

Sounds like fun.

If the 1970 quarter comes with a certificate saying it has accrued interest of $1.52-.25 and you can collect it at any bank, yes, that would be fun.

After more thought, it would have an interesting effect on the economy. First, the Federal Reserve would be trying to gobble up all the old coinage, likely making collectibility values skyrocket. It would have a chilling effect on Wall Street and other markets. All sorts of craziness would occur.

This is like some crazy idea Newt Gingrich would come up with.

I am afraid the only thing we will ever be turning our money in for will be fen, jiao, or yuan.

May be I should attend Sushi school and learn to be a sushi chef!
When a society becomes affluent, yuppies are born and they all want to eat sushi!

You need to find something new.

I've heard that Chitterlings are becoming rare as it takes forever to cook and has many ingredients. Maybe there is a need for Chitterling chefs.

Go to Chinatown supermarket and see what is sold -chicken feet, duck web,pig feet, pig blood, chicken and duck blood, pig intestines, pig stomach, chicken and duck gizzards, beef and pig kidneys, liver, heart, brains, ears, tendons, knuckles.
Go to a Greek or Middle Eastern supermarket, and you see the same with lamb.

So, if I have a few 1970 quarters, I might be able to buy a pound of lamb. Excellent!

lost...

I always avert my eyes from the 'meat' departments in Chinatown.

Your list makes me a little closer to becoming vegetarian!

There are plenty of vegans and vegetarians in Asia, the problem is that most are anemic.
At least from my list, one can find some animal protein and iron on a low food budget.

I saw a documentary film once of what happens in Africa, the miners come to work and they need high calorie food,so the locals go hunting,it shows they killed a gorilla and smoking his arm, thigh, head, torso, turning his arms over and over on the open pit, saying this should be good meal for the miners!

why,are you salivating over those meaty organs?
In ancient Egypt and China, the winner will boast of eating the organ of his enemy,I dont know which organ,it is the gall bladder,I think ,which the Chinese relate to courage.
The Egyptian will eat the heart and organs of a lion, leopard to make him brave and strong.

San Fran,Chicago,NYC Chinatowns are all next to Italian towns which supply the fresh chicken, duck and goose.
The Chinese roast them and guess what do they do with the grease ?
They colect them in big buckets and sell them, someone will come and collect them ,they are used in manufacturing industries.
