About a week and a half ago - I got an offer on a jewelry item. It was $25 on a $60 item. It was low but sales were so slow that I took it. Well the buyer never committed or paid so that was that - or so I thought. Tonight I got another offer from the same buyer for $20. I declined it as soon as I saw it was the same buyer. I wanted to add a nasty little note stating that I don't play that game but resisted.
Thanks ebay this new best offer is working out great - for the buyers.

if you are willing to accept 25 for a 60 dollars item, the buyer wonders how much is it really worth?maybe $25 is too much,so he is testing to see how low can it go?

Ebay does not care about the sellers,it cares about itself, unless there are other venues we can sell on,we are pretty much left with just one choice-EBAY.
Ebay store is a joke, all the warnings in the shop-report this seller, report this buyer?and after the buyer bought from your 'shop',Ebay shows items from other sellers saying Look what others are buying?
Once I even found a logo which said sponsored by XYZ Cafe? with a geisha holding a cup of coffee? on my sold listing??
Did they sponsor my listing? If so,where is the money?
And all those free listings-list 400,000 items free?no wonder they have to suspend 15,000 sellers in one day, these sellers probably never ship any of the items sold.

I often end up scratching my head in these oddball decisions by eBay. Why allow a buyer to wreak havoc with a bunch of listings??? It's not as if this will improve eBay's profits.

eBay even went out of their way to promote this new system as a way for a buyer to make a dozen offers to different sellers and then choose the item they decide to buy and ignore the rest. So one lucky seller gets the sale and the other 11 are left in limbo.

I have changed categories for all of my items that are in this system. If eBay changes all Best Offers to this new system, I will end the Best Offer system on all of my listings. NO WAY in hell am I going to allow buyers to play games with my listings. They can buy it or not and if they try to make offers I will report them. That way eBay gets the message that the new system is stupid.

I suggested that the buyer makes an offer and if the seller accepts it, the buyer's Paypal account is automatically charged for the amount in the offer. Of course, eBay would never go for that because they would see a spike in chargebacks from buyers who claimed they didn't know they would be charged.
