Hi, Full disclosure...I am soooo tech-dumb it's pathetic. I'm clunking along on an older desk pc because it's all I've known how to do (and not terribly well). Wondering if I were to get a more portable gizmo like a tablet if I could still do my auctions on it. Would love to get out from this cave of mine and have some portability without the weight of a laptop if possible. Ive been intrigued by the ads I see for that Microsoft Surface or Surface RT. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

I think you can but might be limited by not having much memory for photos etc. The tablets lack a lot features larger computers have such as no disk drive and often are missing ports to plug in various devices such as your printer. Plenty of small laptops around which might be a better deal for you.
I have Galaxy 2 with an 8 inch screen its a nice small computer but with big fingers and an eight inch screen typing is not easy!

The desktop pc is still your best work horse for selling on Ebay.
The all in one desktop pc takes up less space because the processor is inside the monitor,up to 6 USB ports, built in memory card reader ,wifi ready, some run on intel i7 chip.
But then you cant take it to Starbuck!

I have listed on my Ipad and it's not too bad.
Of course, you would have to take the photos with IPad as there is no way to upload from a memory stick. However the Ipad does take nice photos. Or you can upload to your computer and leave them in draft and work on them when you are on the move.
You can get a wireless printer and print label using a Ipad but I've never done it.
I would go for the Ipad 4, I think it is, as it has Siri and my Ipad 2 doesn't. You may be able to use Siri for listings - I'm not sure but it great for searches.
What I normally do is take the photos and start the listing - schedule it for later - then I go to my laptop and complete it.
The laptop is better for typing
They do make tablets with usb ports as well but I forget the brand.
My biggest problem with my Ipad is prying it out of my husband hands.
There's a lot out there so shop around - you may even want to get a cheap laptop and a tablet.
