I'm getting an email from PayPal saying my account has been suspended for security reasons and they want all my information., i.e.
name, address, Visa number and bank info.

Is this legit?

Sounds like a scam pp already has all that info.
Did they send it to your given name?

Do not respond. Close your browser & go to PP your normal way & see if there is any notice there. If there is, call PP to find out reasons.

Hello,

Unless there was a typo when you entered it, the "servicepaypall.com" indicates that this email is not from PayPal (notice the double letter "l" at the end of PayPal).

Regards,
Nathan

it reads [email protected] with two ll's

stupidly I gave them the information, credit card no (which I cancelled) bank info, etc.
I have notified the bank.

I can't believe I have been so lax. I should know better

I changed the password on my PayPal account too

Never - I repeat - Never click a link in an email if there is any doubt.
A friend sent me a link to a video of her son skateboarding (he is really really good) - I email her to be sure it came from her before I opened it.
I still don't understand why ebay and paypal would ever send out an email with a link in it but they do it all the time.
Hope you will be OK. Changing passwords can be a real pain.

Yep..I have received a few of those lately ( referring to my main ID)and they are very deceptive. You have to examine every word.

When I got mine I forwarded them to spoof @ PayPal and they used to answer and let you know that it was a spoof and thank you...for the past couple of years I just don't think they do anything about them.

The first thing I do is go to eBay and log in to my PayPal account from there and check to see if there are any alerts.

A few months ago I received one saying they needed information from me. I sent to Spoof etc...the next week I received an e-mail from them saying this was their 2nd request for info and my account would be suspended if I did not comply. It was sent to the ID I use for Buying (which has not been very active lately).
After the second one I checked and for all of their bravado & bluster about important information and Suspensions & other strong words....it appeared that my Credit Card was due to expire in a month and they wanted the new CC information. We don't get our replacement cards until about 2 weeks before the old ones expire so I just sat and waited and the Sky did not fall and when the card arrived I updated my info which I would have done anyway without all the threats.

Hope everything turns out OK for you and that no bad use was made of the information.
Don't feel badly..these crooks are good at what they do and many of us will be fooled at some time.

Never click on links in emails such as this. Always go to PayPal or Ebay directly & see if there is a problem on your account that way.
