This is a 1st for me. Buyer contacted me day after winning auction. Says she found one she likes better, wants to cancel, and says I SHOULD go (doesn't ask if I would please go) to resolution center and agree to cancel. I don't have a problem with that but if I do this will I still have to pay any ebay fees for the sale of the item?

Anything I could find on the ebay site to answer the question is worded with the cancelation being done by the buyer due to item lost, broken, etc. Couldn't find info as it would apply to this instance.

correction...that last sentance I meant to say seller not buyer. as in...examples were in cases of the seller canceling because of item lost, broken, etc.

If you have been paid tell them the item has been shipped and if they wish to return it they will need to pay return postage.

If you do a cancel, the buyer is supposed to agree in order to get your fees back. I just had a cancel, the buyer, although it was her request to cancel, never responded, but now Ebay lets the seller get their fees back after 8 days if the buyer does not respond to the cancellation.

Shouldn't the buyer be the one to initiate opening the case since it's her request to cancel? I looked again at the resolution center info and it says that I can't open a case for 2 more days. Just seems like she should be the one to do the work on this...since she's the one wanting this.

She hasn't paid. She just wants it to all go away and for me to make that happen for her.

If you don't want to do a cancel, just wait & do an unpaid.

You can do a cancel before 2 days.

I don't think a buyer can do a cancel.

I had one about 2 months ago that asked me to cancell the auction 3 days after it ended claiming his 12 year old son used his ID and bid on the item. I cancelled it and got my fees back.

I sold the item last month for $100.00 more this time so it worked out great. The buyer left feedback and so did I and the sale was finished.

This month I see I was left a feedback and when I clicked on it to return feedback it was from the 1st buyer. It was a nice feedback so no problem but I thought when an auction was cancelled that was the end of it and feedback could not be left. Hope it works as good for you.
