How do people bid on items when they don't read the description? Listed a backpack with specific dimensions. Soon as the item is received the buyer complains that their laptop won't fit and they are unhappy. Well hell. The buyer says they have a full size laptop and why doesn't it fit when I stated it could carry a small laptop or tablet. I feel bad that I didn't fly to their home and measure their laptop for them prior to auction end. Guess I'm not doing my job.

No one reads, but then again eBay makes it hard to read on the mobile version of the listing. Have you looked at your listings on your cell phone? There is virtually nothing there except the images, item specifics and item condition with an arrow to view complete description. If the dimensions were given in the description, chances are the buyer didn't take the time to look at it.

I guess we have put everything in the title and the condition box to be sure the buyer will see it. Who knows they may not even read it then

I'm about to finally add 14 day returns to our listings. I can't wait for the return excuses to begin. I am starting a new post with my policies to get opinions and suggestions.

They don't read their invoices either.
I just sold a set of chairs. I invoiced and wrote that shipping was Greyhound and she would need to pick them up. Home delivery is available in her area but there would be an extra charge - did she want me to get her that price.
She paid - then nothing. I wrote and asked her again - she said she thought it was in the price listed.
It even said that in the listing so I guess she didn't read that either.

Capo.
In this case, buyer has to pay return shipping and you do not have to refund original shipping, make sure the buyer agree to cancel the transaction so you get your fee back.
I am surprised many sellers just refund via Paypal and never ask the buyer to agree to cancel the transaction,Ebay final value fee is around 12% not small sum.
