It isn’t just sellers ebay is ticking off. Last week I got an email from ebay stating that 3 items had been purchased and paid for 28 days earlier with unauthorized user of buyer or bidder account. The buyer was a multiple repeat customer (over 1k fb). Buyer emails me and ebay had taken it upon itself to cancel all of the buyer’s 40 purchases for the past 30 days because he had logged in using a different computer. Do you think this buyer is going to continue using ebay after they had to take the time & effort to clean up eBay’s mess? Thanks eBay, if this customer comes back it will be a miracle.
It is depressing that the suits could take such a vibrant market and just trashed it through what I see as greed and incompetence. I have spent the last 30 years (15 on eBay) in sales and the folks at eBay do not have the slightest clue about selling or customer satisfaction and they want to school us when they can't even find their rump with both hands.
Just when I think it can't get any goofier we are now open to scammers with zero fb who can under eBay buyer protection keep the item or return a box of rocks and get a full refund then trash our fb destroying years of hard work. We are going down the eBay rabbit hole and there aren't enough drugs in the world to make it a pleasant experience. The writing is on the wall. I want to move on but haven’t found that magical venue…….yet.

where is your buyer, and whose computer was he using to make purchases.
I know Paypal has a list of countries they do not allow access,if you travel to one of the countries and log on to your Paypal account,Paypal will locked up your account.
If your user is using a pc which is infested with suspended Ebay account,Ebay could suspend him.

Very well put ggardenour.
I had a buyer open a Item Not Received case against me. She really just wanted to let me know that the package appeared lost and the next thing she knew it was a case.
I put a trace on it and now it is delivered yet I had to ask her not to close the case because it will be a defect against me. I was told I have to escalate it to a claim and have ebay decide. Decide what??? She is happy with me (already left FB 5 stars) and I'm happy with her but we are both pissed at ebay. I have spoken to 2 people at ebay and they say they can't do anything about it even after reading all my buyers comments about not intending to open a case and knowing it's not my fault.
I have spent time on this that I could have spent listing items so now I have decided to spend time copying my listing for use somewhere else. I've been on ebay for 16 years and never had a negative and I won't take this abuse.

The idea that an inquiry from someone not receiving their item "yet" counts against a seller is absurd.
I have one where the buyer provided an incomplete address. They opened an Item Not Received. They blamed eBay/Paypal for not including the suite number at checkout, then blamed the Post Office for not delivering it because they know who he is... on 5th Avenue in Manhattan!!!
The item was returned undeliverable and I reshipped it to him. The reality was that it was the buyers fault. Even though he blamed everyone else but himself, I am the one who gets the defect. The guy who actually followed the rules and policies. Not eBay, Not Paypal, Not the Buyer, Not the Post Office. Go figure.

You know how Ebay goes about solving its own problems-
it allows everyone anyone to sign up and buy and sell, with this economy, many new sellers are desperate,so Ebay comes up with more rules and all sellers are treated alike, this defect system is to weed out the bad sellers.
Why cant they weed them out by not allowing them to participate?
I just have an email from a UK buyer, she said the figure is missing a beak, and the broken beak is not in the package,I examined the piece very carefully before I pack, there is nothing missing.
She said she will wait for my response before leaving feedback.
I asked her for picture of the broken piece,we all know she does not have to provide picture, but she is free to leave me defect(s).
I am sick of Ebay !

She may not have to send photos, but she would need to return it if she wanted a refund unless you choose to just refund it to her.
I would also wait to see what feedback she leaves, then notify eBay that she was extorting feedback from you. In my opinion, which is not eBay's opinion it is pretty clear what her feedback comment implied. The mere suggestion that she is holding feedback over your head is wrong.

She is from UK,she sent me a picture I can barely see, this has happens several times from buyers in UK,sent a picture you cant see, claim it is damaged and refuse to sign insurance form if the shipment is insured.
It is a low priced item so I sent her another, she has been on Ebay since 1998??
Now a domestic buyer claimed the his package arrived shattered in 100 pieces and mad because it is meant for a birthday present?
He was late in paying me,and I have to file payment not receive to get his attention and now it is meant for a birthday present.
He claimed it is shattered into 100 pieces and the lid of the cookie jar is stuck inside the container.
This comes with original box, styrofoam lining and the lid is separated from the jar with a piece of styrofoam and cardboard.
How could this lid pierce the styrofoam and the cardboard and get stuck inside the jar?
I am asking for a picture to see how it shatters into 100 pieces,so far no reply?
He has almost 8000 feedback and bidded on many items/

I doubt economy is getting better, recently met 2 persons who are working but one has a spouse who was layoff 7 years ago and still no full time job, selling insurance 100% commission,is that a job?
Another has a son who graduated from law school years ago,he is now 31 and have no job, been living with his parents for 4 years??
You read about Ebay sellers who claim they are supporting his family by selling on Ebay and you look at what they sell, there is no way you can suppport a family selling on Ebay??

Back in 2003 my husband lost his job. For a full year I supported the family with eBay sales. There is no way I could do that today. Too many rules, too many big boxes gumming up the works, too much fraud and too many bidders not willing to pay any type of decent price for items.

The only way eBay can survive now is creating stupid ways to pinch sellers out of more money.
If anyone buys them I suspect nothing will change for the better.

My hubby said ebay stock was down 12% for the year.
I called and finally got ebay to close my case without defects. The buyer had already left me glowing FB and I had done the same. Ebay removed both of our FBs.
Oh yeah, while reviewing my case/account the supervisor found another defect back in January which I guess they will add back to my defect number. I don't see how they can give you a defect for something you did before they started this defect crap. My hubby said if they post it, I can report them to the BBB.
I just don't think there is a way to win on this defect stuff.

This morning I have another UK buyer claiming the item is a cheap item and wants a partial refund as he has no time to go to the post office to return the item.
This item sells for half the normal price as this is the last one I have,I am liquidating my store inventory as I am tired of Ebay.

Tell him gee I have no time to go the PO and send a partial refund. however I would be glad to go the PO and mail you a full refund once the item is returned to me. And I do not refund return shipping! Or you can suck it up move on with your life and take up a new hobby that doesn't involve trying to get something for nothing.
Have good day Mate!
