Barry, you'd never guess the book by those lines. And it's hard to imagine a work less likely to interest sgtmike, although for all I know a well-read copy is sitting on his shelves right next to his collection of Jane's hardware guides.

You are absolutely right! I was playing a twist with names because so many people pronounce Poirot more like pareau. It was a joke.

Ah - Pastorleon, I am glad it was a play on words! Many people have tied the two together so I though perhaps I was completly wrong. [and that would be totally unacceptable!]
Wine certainly does help the little grey cells! I believe I shall revisit the other thread for a refill!
