Check this out. Would you say that's a defensive posture, or is that faceless fellow bragging?

I truly don't know how these contests work on AW, but my experience with other sites has been as follows:
People who don't use the services offered may fill out the form, but their entries are discounted and not placed in competition;
Those who do use the services are entered, however, the most frequent users who use the most services are given more weight than those who use fewer services;
Usually the person who is the best customer wins, both in real life and on the internet.
Course, that's just my opinion.

Since every contest AW has ever run has been for US residents only, why are you so surprised? I doubt the reasons they gave in the past have changed.

I like the hat and suit on the guy. Looks like a dress code from the 40's.
Additionally, he can't be bragging, based on personal facts, I believe he is complaining.

Come on folks. Geeesh. Lets get our minds out of the gutter.
It is very obvious that this gentleman is raising his hands in praise to God. At least I think its obvious.
But if he is not I agree with the sarge, a complaint for sure.

AW
If you intend to represent AW as a progressive and sophisticated site, a site considered essential to the online auction world, a site where the people in the know congregate, you blew it. 1 $300 mediocre digcam is the best you can do?
You don't have enough in the kitty to get up off about $525 more and award a Sony Mavica MVC-FD91 or a Nikon Coolpix 950?
Appears AW is riding around in a rented limousine with $2.00 in its pocket.
Cheapo indicates cheapo.

sarge, just following your lead.
No I'm not Catholic, I am an evangelist. I have a radio show but I can't afford all the hairspray it takes to be on T.V.
The good news is I'm cleaned every day.
"The Lord's mercies are new every morning."
Don't mean to preach, just a thought.

Rev, never you mind about the hairspray. You might consider a cable venue for TV exposure, though; you never know who's picking it up. I used to tape one evangelist, Juanita Bynum, when she was broadcast on local-access at 5:30 Sunday mornings. Lots of lessons from life, strange homilies, and outtakes from mega-tentshows she did in the south. Great persuasive speaker. Bet you can cook a crowd, too. It'd be fun to hear you on the air!

A word, Rev. Barry's a terrific guy, but he's been known to confuse the can marked "Redken" with "Red Krylon." The look that works for him might not fly with your parishioners. Have faith, but read the label.

A free digital camera is a free digital camera. If I were going to enter, I'd be glad to win it. Tut, tut, ingrates.
What intrigues me is how they're going to get it to the winner, though, with these terms:
Your name and address will be necessary to enter you in the drawing for an Olympus D360L digital camera. All information you provide to us will remain strictly confidential and will be used for internal purposes only.
How do they get that package with your address on it out the door if your information is going to be used "for internal purposes only"? Part of the USPS's new "don't ask, don't tell" policy? Inquiring minds....
