Hi everyone. Have any of you ever stayed in the Ranger Inn in Arlington Texas? I was wondering what sort of hotel it is. We are taking the kids to 6 Flags and have booked a room there.

Just kinda wondering what to expect.

Thanks for any info!

Never been there but they don't seem to have any cockroaches in the pictures on their web page.

Thanks so much! I didn't know they had a website.

It does look roach free. What more can we ask for??

Thanks again.

There aren't any cockroaches because the snakes eat them.

Those images are a little low-res to show cockroaches. But they'd definitely show palmetto bugs (them giant mutant Southern cockroaches from hell). Snakes are better.

Those don't last long indoors, I had a exterminator tell me their life span indoors with air conditioning was only 2 days tops. They are huge. The only problem I've had is when they stole the hubcaps off my car when I was in Houston.

Hi! I live and work in Arlington. I have been in the Ranger Inn twice (on EMS calls) and it really is a pretty clean place, from what I saw. It is an older place, and from what I've heard, used to be THE place to stay, many years ago. The neighborhood that it's in is close to a more run-down part of Arlington, so I would recommend using minimal precautions after dark. But it is a major intersection, there's a bank with an ATM on one side, a 24 hour convenience store/gas station across the steet, and an absolutely wonderful 24 hour grill/greasy-spoon right across the other street. (In fact, if you have an urge for a yummy, greasy old fashioned cheeseburger @ 2:00 AM, you'll probably run into me or my coworkers!). My parents stayed there about 5 years ago, and really liked it. Also, I've never heard of any bad situations (fights, ODs, violent stuff) get called out there. That may sound weird, but it's a pretty good indicator that managment keeps a good handle on the place.

Anything else you need to know? Hope y'all have a good time! Six Flags is a blast, and I guess I need to get it in gear and take the kiddo this year. You will also be in walking distance to the Ballpark, if you wanna catch a game. (Yeah, the Rangers suck this year, but the atmosphere is great!) Just drink PLENTY of water, and watch out for the moronic Arlington drivers. Let me know if you need to know more!

Connie

Thanks ConnieM, I appreciate it! We haven't been to 6 Flags in 3 years. My little boy and my husband are going to a Rangers game one night, then we will go to the park the next day. I don't remember the area looking run down, but then we stayed at the hotel and the park the whole time we were there. We never went anywhere else. If it is indeed close to a run down area, then it would probably be better for them if they drove to the ballgame instead of walking. It will be late when it is over.

Thanks again!

Hi all!

Well, we just got back from our little trip and I just thought I would let everyone know that the Ranger Inn is a really nice place to stay. We really got a whole lot more than we expected. When we go back that is definately where we will stay.

No roaches (of any size) and no snakes!
