On July 24, 2001 at 2:22 pm. you kindly placed an announcment for your members to read in the Announcements section of the AW Services Forum. Thank you!
Now if you could just get rid of the blasted "new" icon that still appears next to that section *even though there is nothing there I haven't read*, I would be even more grateful.
It's a little thing, true, but incredibly annoying! I keep clicking on the section to see if another gem of information has been placed there for our edification only to find nothing new.
If there is nothing new, then logic dictates that the "New" icon should be dispensed with.

Joice, that post was made hours ago. I received your email notifying me of my infraction (I had no idea that I'd commited one, BTW) about eight minutes ago, and just came to this thread to edit out the link. I realize that you are under the impression that I somehow knew that ezboard links were not allowed here, but I assure you this is the first I heard of it. May I suggest in the future that if you want someone to correct some silly infraction that you allow them more than 10 minutes to do it?
Crap. Now I'll probably be shot at dawn for discussing moderation someplace visible.

My secret plan to draw a moderator's attention to this thread and thus to your complaint works perfectly, and this is the thanks I get? "Never mind gaffan"? Harumph.

You call that a plan? She came, she saw, she did nothing! She didn't even acknowledge the dastardly "New"! It's still there. Just a moment ago it smirked at me! It was secure in the knowledge that my attempt to eradicate it had failed.
Try it now - click on the message and then hit Refresh on your browser - if that doesn't work, then delete out your AW Cookies in the Temporary Internet folder in your Browser cache - that should do it.
Edited to add: Enough of the jabs back and forth at each other.
Thank you,
Sara

I looked at the Temporary files (found under Tools/Auction tools), but...how do I know which one of those are the AW cookies? They all look alike & when I click on them to see what they are they tell me that messing with them could effect my PC adversely...
I'm talking about your Temporary Internet folder on your PC - there are files in that folder called 'cookies' - find the one that is named Auctionwatch and delete that. It will replace itself the next time you go to the Auctionwatch site - all the messages will have the new icon next to it, but once you click on them and then hit Refresh on your Browser you should be set.
If you have further questions about this, please post it in the Services forum, as I'm sure Customer Service can help you further if this doesn't work for you.

AAAAAAGHHH!!!!
I am in Technopeasant hell! I went to my C drive & found a file labeled "Temp"...the only thing in it are two .wav files. And I can't find one labeled "Temporary Internet" or even "Internet!
Edited to add: there is no file labeled "cookies," either...
Please post this question in the Customer Service Forum where they can help you in the morning with this - I will also email you about this now, and am going to lock this thread.
