My wife is going for her masters this fall and I'd really like to save a few bucks on one of the books she needs.
Mathematics, a Good Beginning : Strategies for Teaching Children by Andria Troutman, Betty K. Lichtenberg (it has to be the 5th edition)
The best I've found so far is $90.00 for the paperback, and the $200.00 for the hardcover. Any tips on where to look? My usual links are dead ends on this quest. Help!

Go to a site called bibliofind.com and type in the title and/or author and see what comes up. I've found this site to be very helpful in locating books I thought I'd never find.

Thanks Joycel, Bunnicula, Toke,
I have used bibliofind and bookfinder before. For some strange reason when I used the second author's name on bookfinder it gave me only a $200.00 match. I had never used addall.com before.
Both bookfinder and addall give me one match on a softback 5th edition for $20.00 from the same seller, that's more gooder than $86. I just hope this fellow still has it when I call. Most of the matches were for 2nd, 3rd, and 4th editions. Some of these text books can be expensive to the point of obscene.

Most textbooks are expensive, especially once you reach graduate school. I'd hate to actually figure out the total amount of money I spent on textbooks as I worked towards the completion of my Ph.D...
It even gets worse the more you specialize, most of the monographs I wish to purchase these day are typically in the range of $200.00 to $300.00...
I'm glad to hear you were able to locate the text you needed for a good price...

Well, apparently I got a happy ending on my book quest. The one dealer that did have a used 5th edition copy still had it. I emailed her payment, she emailed me a refund due to corrected shipping fee and the book was shipped today. Saved over $60.00.
