The tom and BIL are ADAF.
The kitten and a couple cousins are AD Army.
My brother is AFReserve.
Most of our friends are either AD military or civilians associated with the military.
They are all stationed hither and yon.

My son, Matt is a Sergeant in the Marine Corps. He is stationed at Camp LeJeunne, North Carloina. We live in Augusta, GA which is where Ft. Gordon is located. So many of our friends and neighbors are military.

We have a cousin in the Canadian Army - he and his unit have been on 1 hour standby for over a week now.
He has been phoning his father every night, saying "This may be goodbye for a while... don't know".
He and his father are handling it fine, rest of the family is scared.
Wishing you and yours good health.

One brother in law in the navy in RI somewhere. Patrolling the perimeter of the base with only a flashlight & walkie talkie or so the rumour was. (My mother was concerned about that)
One bother in law assocaited with the army in some way...in Idaho somewhere.
Haven't heard anything about the status of either.....

ProudCanuk: I ran into a bunch of guys from the Canadian Army when I was stationed overseas. I have got to say they were the toughest bunch of soldiers I have ever seen.
(scared the heck out of me)These guys were incredibly well trained.
I think the blokes that may have to face them have far more to worry about.
For the first time ever my family has no one in the military at this time. One niece got out last year and a nephew was discharged with a disability when he broke his back last year. (he is doing fine)
My heart goes out to those of you who do have family in the service at this time.

My oldest son is in Charlie co. 36th infantry stationed in Germany. He's already done several tours in Bosnia as part of the peacekeeping force. He's been accepted for entry into Special Forces. I'm proud and frightened at the same time.
My 17 year old son will join the Air Force when he turns 18 next March.

A very close family friend (he's like a brother to me) is in the Army, stationed at Camp Roberts, CA. He & his family just got back from Germany. He says he won't be deployed this time, I sure hope so!

My exBIL is in the Army - stationed at the Pentagon. He was in the Pentagon when the plane crashed - his office had been under renovation so he was in another part of the building at the time ,otherwise, he would not have been so lucky.

My DIL brother is in the Army stationed in Italy.
He just got married in Aug. and adopted his wifes daughter. They've only been there for three weeks. So, when all this happened he went into special training on the other side of the base. I really feel sorry for his wife. As soon as they get there the base is locked down, and she can't even see her husband. She's very lonely and scared.

My oldest 2 sons are in the Air Guard- my 21 year old was told to expect to be called up and my 19 year old has been working on the base everyday since the 11th.
My Sister is a CWO3 in the Army. Supply. You know she is busy.
My husband and I are ex-Navy. We are too old to be called back up. We are more worried about our 17, 15, and 12 year old sons' future and that of our unborn baby.

My nephew is a Captain in the army. Son is in Navy reserve after serving his hitch in Spain. A little aside- My dad (in 1918), I (in 1955) and my son (in 1993) all spent our 21st birthdays in the service in Europe. One thing for sure, virtually all Americans are going to be affected. A columnist here once said, " I cannot, no matter how hard I try, imagine the pain of a Mother sending her son or daughter off to war." I think the Mothers will need our support the most. Dave (PS. My congratulations and best wishes to all the posters here.)

My son got out of the Marines three years ago, then without telling us, about 2 months ago, he reenlisted in the reserves. He's on alert right now.
Not my name on ebay.

Moocat2000: My son-in-law used to be at Camp LeJeune. Then Parris Island, SC. And now Fort Worth.
I forgot to mention that I have a friend that I've known since kindergarten (a LONG time) and he is a Colonel in the Air Force stationed in Seoul, S. Korea. Can't leave him out!
