I have seen a number of statements asking if it is unpatriotic to sell stocks for example instead of holding them and taking a paper loss for at least the present to support the market.
That brings to mind a story I was told and I will let you figure out how to apply it to your own life.
Speaking with an old German lady who moved her she related living in Germany during the raise of the Nazis. She told me something I have never seen in a book.
She said one of the BIG reasons the Germans hated the Jews was they refused to keep their money in the German banks in Marks because the value kept going down daily and they ignored the governments stern demand that patriotism demanded doing so.
They converted their money to dollars and Swiss francs and sent it to Switzerland or bought diamonds and things like art instead.
The Gypsys were also known for doing that.
The common Germans hated them for protecting themselves when the average German was obedient to authority and went broke following their orders.
