Do you think TV shows will become less violent since the recent events? Will you be less or more likely to watch a TV program with violence now? What about movies?

I was never a big fan of action flicks, but after seeing the video of the WTC (over & over & over) I don't think I could ever watch a movie like that agin'. Of course my DH would have no problem, since he has a much better handle on separating reality from fiction. I caught an interview with a Hollywood bigshot last week, and he was pretty sure that there will be a "toning down", if you will, of the big explosion scenes.

TV shows have been kinda spooky lately. So many are plot based in NY and the skyline scenes, complete with the WTC intact, are strange to watch.

But perhaps I'm being a bit over sensitive. Just this afternoon, I was "shopping" at eBay and came a cross a .gif in a sellers auction of a plane flying towards the screen. Made me very uncomfortable.

Why now with the less violence? If they stop movies with exploding buildings, will they stop the slasher flicks? I can see it now....no more terrorist movies, so they will compensate with more Freddie Kruger ones. Its not ok to show blwown up buildings, but its ok to show someone being slashed. Not.

Right after the 11th, I popped in the movie Armegeddon, with Bruce Willis and in one scene, the towers get blown to bits with falling asteroid debris. Why did I watch it? Because he saved the world. I also will watch Independence Day. Why did I watch it? Because they fought and won. I will re read The Stand, Swan Song, and watch the same movies I always have. Seeing blown up buildings in movies wont make it go away, what happened here.

I dunno...the Bruce Willis/Schwartzenegger kind of violent action pics always seem like cartoons to me. The special effects thing is so obvious. I find psychological thrillers far more upsetting.
