I am soooo disgusted with the human race right now I could scream!

Someone stole my Flag, the very same Flag I stood in line to buy, the very same Flag I paid $20.00 hard earned dollars for (giving up my monthly movie for), the very same Flag I proudly hung on my property.

For some unexplainable reason, this THIEF felt THEY had the right to walk onto my property in broad daylight and take what I worked hard to acquire - just because it is a difficult item to acquire at the moment.

The stinker is, not one neighbor saw it happen - so much for Neighborhood Watch. As someone once said - "you got robbed and the neighborhood watched".

It just really saddens and p****s me off that someone would steal an American Flag - especially during this time. Especially.

I think we ought to make Flag Theft a Felony - penalty being Public Humiliation.

Bummed out.

That really stinks.
I'm sorry.
I like your public humiliation idea ~ Justice for all!
Seems fitting for the crime.
Last week we had a teenager get arrested down here (Florida) for stealing flags. He had over 40, I believe.
He was planning on selling them at the Flea Market...

I am so sorry - especially since you indicate you are on a tight enough budget you had to give something else up to do it. If you buy another I would suggest watching it because when people steal things they often watch for a brand new replacement coming so they can steal that. I would report it to police and see if your homeowner's policy will cover it.
I know it is probably under the deductable.

I can not afford to buy another right now, but I intend to.

I already had a Flag before buying the new one, but it was one that had been used for several long years and I felt the situation warranted a new Flag.

I currently have a coreboard message staked under my Flag pole that states "Even though someone stole my Flag, I am proud to be an American!" Then I had my little niece help me draw a Flag underneath that.

I am calmed down now.

My thoughts on this issue have gone 'Un-Surveyed' and may not be of importance to the P.T.B.

Sorry man...

I looked at hundreds before deciding on yours,
but if it's any consolation,

All my friends think I made the right choice.

Thanks Not!

I assure you it flies with respect and decency on my porch.

I'm in the same boat. Someone also stole our flag a week ago from our front yard in broad daylight. No one saw it happen either. We did report it to the police even though there's nothing they can do. We don't want the local papers to say there's no crime in this town.

Our flag was won on July 4th by our son, who was about 8 or 9 at the time, at a local celebration. He was so proud of it.

Flag stealers have to be the lowest of the low.

There's a large construction project in our town and the workers had hung a flag. It was stolen after about a week. The local paper ran an article about the theft. Many flags were donated to replace it. Flags in different sizes now hang where the old one was and a large flag hangs from the crane where it's out of reach of thieves.

You know, I have a flag around here in a box somewhere and I was planning on trying to find to display it for the first time. But after hearing about all of the thefts (they're rampant here too ), I changed my mind as that flag is very special to me. My mom ordered it for my birthday, which happens to be Flag Day, and they flew it over the Capitol building for my birthday. So I printed out some flag pictures instead and put them in my front window. It's still a stand-out display!

*excuse me, I seem to be fighting a losing battle with my posts tonight...

Geez!!! What kind of sucky human being would do something like that?

A patriotic thief. Quite ironic really...

It makes as much sense as people who steal Christmas stuff. They obviously just don't get the significance of anything when you see they are going through the motions of being a celebrant themselves....

We used to have many lighted Christmas figures in our yard at Christmas, one year someone stole several candycanes and extension cords!!.
