Holy cow. Even if this isn't accurate much at all, it sort of made me give a mental whap to my forehead, "Why didn't THAT sort of development occur to me??"
How many really brilliant and connected hackers are right now utterly outraged and motivated to outdo each other at this sort of thing? Give 'em a bit of funding to buy passwords to various key Arab computer and financial systems and we might see utter chaos very soon. If this incident actually happened, I'm surprised these guys didn't ship Mr. Ladin his $10 million back to Afghanistan... in pennies. Just hope nobody mucks with uninvolved Saudi accounts, say, and damages the wrong people. Still.... right on!

Ultimately, I think there is finanacial and other information about terrorist support networks that the US Govt doesn't want the public to know. Because the American public will demand action be taken.
It has already been revealed that the Suadi govt regularly allowed money to be sent from Saudi Arabia to support bin Laden. It was a trade off- we'll allow money to be sent, you don't try to topple the Saudi government. The money trails have also been traced to other "friendly" Arab countries.
The only alternative I can see to taking the war to all these support systems is to find an end to oil use by the West. Draining the petro-dollars from the region will have a crippling effect for supporting terrorism, or much else for that matter.
Everytime we fill up with gas we are indirectly funding the terrorists that wish to kill us.
