I hav not seen any tests of The Emergency Broadcasting System since the 11th. Is it just my area, or have they quit testing it? It would seem that if we should ever see them test the system, it would be now. Are the afraid of panicing people or what?

The Government did away with the EBS a few years ago the system is mainly now used for local storm warnings tornado thunder storm warnings and such these days..

The notice that pop up on tv when bad storms are comeing is all that left of the old EBS system ..

Not sure about the EBS, but our city did it's usual "1st Monday of the month, Noon" siren check.

hahah I live within less then a half a mile of three of these sirens they test them twice daily once at noon once at 5 PM Every dog in town goes howling twice a day..

but in all honesty I think it was way back in 95 or 96 they did away with the radio and TV EBS system its now used for earily local storm warning..

They still do testing but it not EBS no more it ran by the national weather service

It was always a joke anyway. Flight time for a ballistic missile is 20 minutes from Europe and 4 to 6 minutes from a sub and the politicians would need a month to debate if they should tell you anything.
The first you would know is when you see the reentry vehicles burning in or sun coming up over the wrong stretch of horizen.
