While I find the never-ending information provided by the TV news networks interesting & informative, I am beginning to lose it trying to keep up with 1) the video 2) the two line update directly under the video 3) the streaming data across the bottom of the screen. I can usually "catch" the video & the two line update, but I have yet to master mentally processing the video & the data stream simultaneously. I am fortunate that I have TIVO and can back up to catch whatever I miss, but even that is getting tiresome. Am I the only one who (it appears) cannot watch/read three things at on time?

Next there will be little inset images that blink and scroll and show bits of other news reports. After that there will be pop-up advertisements so the news can be never ending and still get in their advertising. Lastly, you'll have little letters that follow the infra-red beam of your remote around the screen and forming words and sentences. Welcome to the World Wide Television Nightmare!
GAH!!

So the advertising can be never ending and still get in their news is probably what they really have in mind.

Well, as an inveterate watcher of foreign films with subtitles and the possessor of a TV with PIP (Picture in Picture), I admit to being used to tracking 2-3 things at a time.

My husband never misses a word and can watch 3 other channels at the same time. He let's me believe that I am handicapped.

Since I am hard of hearing I really need the closed captioning but the directors don't ever seem to be aware of the placement of the closed captioning or more likely don't CARE.
I understand what you are saying. Some people do not read fast. I happen to read very fast but just as I would like some consideration for my hearing they need to accomadate the slower readers.
