The real good news is that this, and the fact that the Taliban offered yesterday to free the other foreigners on trial there if the US backed down, shows that they are running scared.

It also shows that they are now clearly using the 8 on trial as hostages. The Taliban is truly repugnant...in every possible way. I'm glad that, for once, we are not attempting to negotiate with dishonorable scum.

They will probably let the British reporter go free so that they can blame the fate of the eight hostages on America. And unfortunately some will believe it.
Edited to add: They will probably let her go if we take no military action this weekend.
