Sorry, Reamond. I promised myself I wouldn't click on any more links this week.
Just kidding!
That's a tough one. I don't know what the answer would be in this case. On the one hand they are here illegally on the other they've lost family members and we could show some compassion. But we have shown quite a lot of compassion to illegals over the years and look where that's gotten us. I dunno. What do you think, Reamond?

If an airplane carrying citizens of the Dominican Republic, who were illegally residing in Manhattan, crashes in Queens, where do you bury the survivors?
I'm brutally unsentimental, but I can't see the problem here. You bury the people in New York. That way, the illegal immigrants don't have to run the risk of leaving, the family members can come here for the funeral instead. The woman in the article who's an illegal citizen, but whose 9 year old daughter is a U.S. citizen, obviously wants to stay here or else she wouldn't be wrestling with this dilemma. So, she should bury her husband where she and her daughter intend to stay. Why bury the kid's father where the kid isn't?
And this fear of relatives of claiming bodies is just stupid. There's going to be money coming to the next of kin of these victims, they need to have their relatives' bodies identified and their connection to them established.

They are breaking the law. I think some may find it heartless to deport them or refuse them re-entry, but like Raw said, our slack immigration enforcement just cost us 4000 lives and billions of dollars.
But, wait until the lawyers get involved. A lawyer wouldn't do a thing for a poor illegal immigrant, but with damage awards from the plane crash, these people will have lawyers coming out their ears.
