Just got home & found I'd received to emails that both had attachments & both triggered the "open attachment" warning that asks if you want to save to disk or open right away. I did neither--hit cancel. Neither email had a message in the body, either! I emailed both senders telling them of this & asking what their message was & what was in the attachments and hope to hear back from them.

The first was from someone I sold a DVD a couple of months ago and the attachment on that one was: Fun.MP3.pif
It was 29 kb...there was also a txt attachment that was 0 kb.

The second was from someone on a mule message group I'm on: DOC.doc.pif
Again, 29 kb *and* with a txt attachment that was 0 kb.

Has anyone heard of a new virus like these?

Hi Bunni, I haven't heard of those particular viruses. There is always a new one to watch out for! Wish people would think of something else to do besides torment us with viruses!

Speaking of viruses...I have a new computer with an anti virus program that is more annoying than a virus.

Every few minutes, a 2X4 pop up ad for this virus protector flashes on the screen, and reads "Trend PC-cillin Anti Virus, Blocks malicious Java and Active X Code". It remains for about 5 seconds and disappears. While it is on the screen, all computer action stops...no typing etc.

I've tried to find out how to remove the ad but with no luck. Maybe removing the program is the only way? I don't open email attachments so I wonder if I really need a virus protector.

Yeah. she was jabbering away and eating a salad at the same time as she wolfed down big pieces of cake. She started laughing at something she said, as she usualyy does, and her teeth popped out of her mouth and fell into an ashtray full of butts that she kept right next to her salad bowl. It was gross, but she just picked them up and put them back in her mouth along with another hunk of cake and finished her dumb story.

Disgusting! That will teach me not to laugh when I talk or talk when I eat or tell dumb stories while I laugh and talk or my teeth will fall out.

Thanks for that warning.

Well, I just read that Zilvy misses me like she misses a bowling ball hitting her in the teeth.

Maybe that's how she lost her teeth?

What a tragic accident.

HopelessSinner asked her if she missed me and she said as much as having a boil lanced. Then her blood pressure began to rise.

So, I told her that I really missed her.

Hi there, Jaded

I wasn't there when this insult was delivered so may I deliver one in return for a poster who is not here?

That's fair...is it not?

Right now, I'm reading Marquis De Sade.

What's up with you?

I'm having computer problems...wish Meya was here to answer my question. I may have to remove my virus protector because it keeps flashing on and off like a pop up ad every few minutes.

Jaded is a poster on another board...could be anybody here.

Did you un-install your virus program yet Helen?

krs, you are so decent! Most guys wouldn't be caught dead with someone on oxygen in a wheelchair with false teeth. I'm getting a real sense of compassion here.
