Does anyone know why the site went down tonight?

I don't have a clue but I'll wager DianaAW does.
Something must have needed fixing.

Personaly I was at my wits end wondering where I would go and what I would do if this was "IT" .

In case no one else has been awake late enough to notice, AW has gone down for "scheduled" maintenance several times in the last week.

Either one of two things has happened - there are major changes in the process or a doohickey broke causing the whatzit to wobble precariously and there's no one left to fix it so they take the site down for a few hours every night to prop it up with the spare copies of "Programming for Dummies" lying around....

The above theories are purely speculative, basedly solely on observations I have made in the thousands of hours I've wasted here and are for entertainment purposes only.

Frisky? Who me? Didn't you see my ID - I'm a sweetpotato

I must confess I LMAO when I first opened this thread. All I saw was the title and then part of rawbunzel's post - "but I'll wager DianaAW does"

Sweetpotato, that is NOT what I meant by my post. ACK. I have to admit it looks rather funny now I go back and read it again.

AW goes down, but gets right back up.

Should I make up a saying for each of the boards, hmmm.

Maybe it's the new form of moderation. When the MOD(S?) see something they don't like they just WOMD the site for awhile. Has it been established that Diana is the only remaining MOD? Does she have a red "launch" button on her keyboard?
krs- Having one's loo dismantled can be rather painful! Isn't there medication one can take prior to resorting to surgery?

DianaAW just won the James Randi $1,000,000 Psychic challenge by predicting the exact moment that AW would again go down!

It goes down, but it comes up again pretty fast.

(Not as fast as it used to, though. Sigh...)

I think it was getting close to the end of Free Listing Day late last night when it went down... probably put all available server capabilities into submitting as many auctions as possible...
