My husband put me onto this site. You can test your own implicit attitudes toward race, gender, age, politics, and academic subjects. I've just taken the "age" test and find to my dismay that I have a "moderate implicit attitude favoring young over old." Interesting!

Well, I'm not real sure what this indicates about me overall but:

I strongly prefer "old" people
I slightly associate females with science
I have no preference as to color

I have always sought out "older" people, when I was in my mid 20's all my friends were 65+ (they used to call me the Kiddo)
Now that I am "old" myself, I don't have all that many "older" people to associate with and I am not too crazy about my peers!!!

Since I majored in microbiology, I am not surprised that I associate females with science and not just liberal arts.

My mom raised me to not judge on race but on actions. I guess her teachings took! When only seeing faces associated with words, I saw no difference. I am pleased with that.

Hi!

This sounds like an interesting test. But I am unable to access the link. In fact, although I can access every University in the Northeast, Yale University will not display.

Is anyone else having this problem?

Try this Helen

If that doesn't work, it's true -- the whole world is against ya

My results (which I don't profess to understand, and which I'm certain I don't wish to know more about) :

"Your data suggest a slight preference for FURNITURE relative to MATH"

"Your data suggest a moderate association between math and Male relative to Female"

"Your data suggest a moderate identity with FEMALE relative to MALE"

Roadsmith, you're not making a good first impression upon us Californians

Pat

Based on your results, I don't think that I am missing anything.

Maybe my new virus program is protecting the rest of the world from my attitudes.

Thanks for the link...but "this page cannot be displayed still appears.

Aw shucks, plsmith! And I was so hoping to make a great impression on all my new fellow Californians. The test really is pretty interesting to me.

Helen: I'm sorry you can't access that. When I first went to that site, I thought it was happening to me, also; the screen was blank for about a minute (their home page warns about this and says it takes a while to load)but it sounds as though you won't be able to get to it. Ah well . . . .

I feel better now.

I know exactly how you feel!

Anyway, I just diagnosed my problem. My virus protector...Norton would not cooperate with my XP and Yale was the only university in America that I could not access.

Snowy, Maybe Norton knows what we know. LOL!

I removed the virus program and immediately, it came up. But now, I don't have time to take the test....Maybe later.

We are off to a good start.

I also put a plug in for Windows XP and Norton Anti Virus.
