The only good thing that I can say about this is that both these clowns have been fired.

Just have to wonder how long it will take before they show up with some sleazy lawyer whining about their god giving rights to kill their paying customers.

What a world we live in, sheeesh

There were 124 passengers aboard that flight. I think that each of those pilots should be charged with 124 counts of Attempted Homicide. Let's see their lawyers wrangle them out of *that* mess!

"Airport security screeners said they noticed a whiff of alcohol on two America West pilots Monday morning when they got into a dispute over cups of coffee they wanted to bring through a checkpoint."

That caught my eye. I can understand paying those high prices for Airport coffee and not being able to bring it through the security checkpoint. But there's plenty of hot coffee onboard the jet and it could have waited. My guess is that the coffee may have had some alcohol in it and that is why they were angry about not getting it through.

I heard that because of the union they can appeal the discharge. Haven't heard if they will, but don't you think it's a "given?"

I suspect that the authorities purposely waited until the pilots were in "control" and "operating" the plane in order to be able to bring charges. The dramatic fact that they were "only minutes" from liftoff, caused me to roll my eyes. The authorities knew exactly what they were doing.
