It's good to see that Anarchy still reigns in parts of America. People searching for answers to questions that they don't know, gather together to express that inexplicable feeling that we're all part of something greater, but can quite get a grip on exactly what it is or what we're supposed to be doing. Both revelers and celebrants alike enjoyed the outdoors, communed with one another in special and natural ways, and will take back home with them an experience to be remembered. So, how was YOUR Fourth spent -- right?

I know that you wish this was some political experience It was not, it was a chance to run around naked and get high with some serious professional fruits. a baby woodstock
too bad theres great musky fishing at bond falls and a casino just south of there too !

Well I think there ought to be public places for people to run around naked and do their thing.

Of course some law enforcement types had to show how foolish they could act by bothering these people,
its too bad the Michigan state police did not have to attend nude,
I could have told them where they could stick their badges.

Watersmeet in in the center of Michigan's Upper Penninsula.
Where hwy US 2 east west meets Hwy 45 North south.
TO the north just at the edge of town fantastic fishing in the river or go a few miles farther to paulding mi to enter Bond falls a real fantastic series of weaterfalls below a ccc dam. Yes camping and Gift shop, this area is known for large Black bears and Cougars so use some sense.
North end of watersmeet a casino from a smaller tribe that put out a really nice
time.
In town watersmeet corner us2 and 456 2 restaurants both with great prices and friendly service.
east on us 2 miles of nothing and then Iron River Mi where drinking is an indsutry in itself good pizza great rummage sales good fishing and lots of lakes
west on us 2 Ironwood mich and then Hurley
you old timers all know what Hurkley was famous for. Now its free. He he he.
South on hwy 45 Land o lakes,Conover and Eagle River with its resorts lakes and supper clubs Whike In Eagle river if your a vet stop in at the legion Post One with the Big sherman tank on the lawn.

Back to the nudity thing. We just came thru this awful heat. In fact, the average temp throughout the building I work in was 90 degrees. (Clue: I work for the city.  ) So on July 4 my mind went meandering to whatever archaic thinking made it ok for men to take their shirts off and not ok for women. I resented it.
Of course it's an American thing...

I go to Sanibel Island whenever I can and the European tourists really resent having to cover up on the beach and the cops enforce it. Some Germans there just wore their bras. They didn't own any tops and wouldn't buy them - said it was stupid.

I think it is.
I like French as opposed to British or U.S. controlled islands for this reason. (Although Jamaica has it's spots.) And the U.S. south is the worst. In my experience down there they expect you to be wrapped in spandex in saunas fer chrissake. In Turkey I swear I swore women 90 years old were also naked in the baths. There's freedom and then there's freedom I guess.
Give me a beach where whether or not one looks good in a bikini isn't the norm any day!
I know there are 'nudist camps' and all that. I'm sure they must attract desperate voyeurs and I'd never want to go to one. I'm not *into* nudity, but naked is the best way to swim and if it's 110 degrees and I want to take my top off in a recreation area I wish I just could. Seems fair, no?

My congressman is an anally retentive republican.
they do not have sex they are to busy screwing the country.
One of the major problems in this society is the Huge number of women who do not breast feed.
this has caused a generation of maladjusted people who feel unloved and the need for indsutrial strenght prozac.
One day I was in the UP and stopped at Burger King in escanaba. I was surprised to run into several family members there.
One is an extremely top heavy sister who makes dolly parton look anorexic. She had her new baby with her.
I asked her if she would be breast feeding the baby.
She said No I am Not defensivly.
I said Why thats an utter waste.
several people choked on their food laughing she threw french fries at me. I really did not plan this.

File a civil rights suit. The major city near where I live it is legal for men and woman to go topless in public. The alternative was not to allow anyone to be topless in public.
2 years ago a woman was arrested for mowing her lawn topless. They had to drop the charges.
