Upon announcing that I needed a break from the board which was getting boring I got two repsonses from Linda/Twelve both saying the equivilent of
"Don't let the door hit you in the ass on your way out... "
I've never heard that one before , have you??? WOW, how funny!
Well, I guess I made the right choice! I was so bowled over by that clever, ORIGINAL statement that I now know I MUST leave.
In the face of that wit, that originality, that stunning repartee I realize I will never be on the same level with those "two".
So I hang my head in shame and shuffle off this mortal chat room.
But don't worry, linda and twelve will ALWAYS and FOREVER be here to enlighten you with their quick wit and C&P's. Ya, poor things, there isn't much else for them....so sad.

Hey Crowfarm, Helen, Cheryl....
What????!!! C'mon now.. you aren't going to leave this board because of differing opinions now are you? You are not quitters now are you? You three are among the Democrats fiercest warriors here..
What will that serve? They will think that they have chased you all out of here..!!
Then the board might just as well rename itself "The Republican Round Table". What fun would that be..
Bear would become depressed and eat himself up to 250 pounds, his fingers would ache not being able to post his "hey hey" ho ho" Kerry - sign the 1-8-0 anymore.. I will miss that too.. kind of reminds me of Limbaugh wearing a Santa Costume.. LOL
Linda won't have anyone to contradict and her C&P days will be over.. she will have to much time on her hands and might be forced into taking up belly dancing, now do you all want that on your conscience? Let us keep this lovely lady on the straight and moral path.
Then there is Twelvepole..he wouldn't have anyone to call names and would have to spend all of his time posting to Logansdad trying to make him see the light and convert to heterosexuality...
You gals just can't let this happen..
Stay and fight the good fight to the finish.
I know that everyone is feeling frustrated with each other right now.. Politics does not necessarily bring out the best in us, especially in the midst of an ugly mud slinging election.. but put things in perspective.. one party will win and one will lose.. and then it will start all over again in another four years..

Crow! You're gonna leave because Linda & Twelve can't come up with original lines? They never have - that's what's so much fun. Besides, you need permission to leave from us liberals and nobody's given you permission yet. Sorry!

I just returned from an estate sale in Potomac, Maryland. Whoooo! Their commercial kitchen was larger than my house. Lol.
Never said that I was leaving, drdolittle...just losing interest in wading through so much bearshit every day. Apparently, I'm not alone in that respect.

Aw, you flatter me! LOL! I'm leaving for vacation, but I will be back. I'll just be more selective in the battles I choose. Some just aren't worth the fight and I'm sure by now you know which ones those are!! Like, Helen, I get tired of wallowing knee deep in muck every day. Hey, now that I have a new job I'll also be able to afford new boots to do the wallowing in.

To clear up another erroneous cf statement....I said 'rear' not as$. But she got the jest of my statement....

Let us keep this lovely lady on the straight and moral path.
Trust me, I would never rely on anybody here to keep me on a straight and moral path. I question whether some even know what that means.

That vile statement is a good example of what everyone here is trying to avoid.

Oh yes helen....I'm the cause of everybody leaving. right.
If they're leaving because of me, they don't have a backbone to begin with.
I think I'm one of the MOST civil people who posts here. You guys just don't like my political positions....but rather than answering the issues...arguing with my position...it always is made personal.

OOOh, I just can't leave yet.
not after,"Trust me, I would never rely on anybody here to keep me on a straight and moral path. I question whether some even know what that means."
Well, linda, I can't change your total lack of morals overnight and I really have to go but first:
Torturing children is wrong. THAT'S VILE.
Giving the extremely wealthy people money when the less fortunate are suffering is immoral.....
well, in fact everything you stand for is immoral.
So you see, I do know about the moral path.
No, linda you didn't say ass....wow, you're so moral! But you had Twelve say it for you , your "secret" way to spew garbage without having to take the blame.
And how civil is ,"don't let the door hit you in your rear" ?
How nice, but you didn't say ass so that makes you civil?.....NOT.
I am not leaving because of anything like linda.....I got work ta do.
The OP was for fun but once again, linda has proved me right....
The word is jist NOT jest.

In this thread crowfarm says she is leaving and Cheryl and I mention our concerns here. But you pay no attention and continue with personal attacks. This is not about your political opinions. Anyone, even those without a "backbone" can counter those. This is about personal attacks. Big grinning smiley faces will not make it OK.
That's just my opinion and something for you to think about after you post another stab at me.
posted on August 20, 2004 04:24:38 PM new
Well Helen, where have you had your head? In the clouds. You talk about personal attacks, although I haven't seen any from you, kiara, cheryl, I have seen many by a certain poster by the name of crowfarm and her emailing buddie maggie. Did you miss all that. I doubt if you did as you are here almost every day. They both seem to be the queen of bad language.
Now how do you feel crowfarm. I have never called you anything but it(as I didn't know your gender) and crowfarm but you seem to sling names at me all the time. Now it is you who can't take the heat.
Stick around it is going to get even worse, don't leave yet, as the Book written by the Swift Boat operator came out today and it is already a best seller. Now we will know the truth about Kerry's Vietman record. I wish I could cut and past the article from Road runner about Kerry backing away from his vietnam record but I guess they don't want us to do that.
Now you know you weren't leaving you just wanted people to feel sorry for you and beg you to stay. Feel better now.
posted on August 20, 2004 04:34:53 PM new
So it is the personal attacks on Kerry Is the reason your leaving. Well he contributes to that so he has to take it.
About the haircut. It doesn't leave a good impression to the poor and homeless that he spends that much on a haircut. Think about it. You talk about your reduction in pay and he spends that much.
I will tell you I donate nothing to any political party for that reason. There is to much money waisted on political campaigns. Money that can be put to good use. My money stays with me so that I can enjoy what I like to do. Vacation.

Helen might I suggest that you take all your hatred ....all your vitriol ...put them in some sort of a container.... and throw them in the ocean.
I think I'm a pretty good person...and nothing you can say is going to convince me otherwise.

WoW Linda_K, you'd probably be shocked to find out how moral some of us really are and what a straight path we lead. Oh ya....... we don't worship Bush and we question the government .......... so we must be totally immoral and evil in your eyes and you are putting yourself on a pedestal above us now?

Oh, now the second one who must believe my comments were directed personally at her replies.
Leading a straight and moral life covers a lot of ground, kiara. It is not limited to who one supports or does not support, politically. Of course we each use our own set of morals/values to make decisions in all areas of our lives....including our political choices.

Wait.. I thought you were just joking Linda.
Just being your playful self.. I guess I'm the only one that sees that side of you.
But I must admit you gave me a fright.. I had to look up "Vitriol", I thought you were referring to the new medication to enhance a female's sex drive!!!!!!
Okay, now I know what it means.. sarcastic, caustic, bitter..
As far as Libra's comments on name calling, well, it looks to me like a lot of the posters do this, not only crowfarm..some are more subtle, (and you know who you are) LOL and some are more crude, and some are even passive aggressive..but everyone gets their digs in one way or another.. my choice of weapon is humor.. is anyone laughing? Lol, Linda..... it's just that when someone starts throwing stones about how others may not know what moral is and they accuse some here of hatred and then go on to pat themselves on the back and say that they think they are such a good person I get a bit suspicious.

Taken from the thread Helen highlighted in her thread and it was said by you.
I don't mind the debates but the level of attack against Kerry (OOOOh he got an expensive HAIRDO, what a terrible guy!)
are not really debates about what's best for this country but are more about how much the Righties hate their fellow Americans..
Your words crowfarm. And you know what is best for the country. I really doubt that. How do you know the righties hate their fellow americans.
I play a lot better bridge game than you do crowfram and proud of it. I have been playing bridge for 30 years.
Well I tell you DOC there are only two well there was three, but, that have called me names and use foul language. But I just have to consider the sourse. The third one isn't around here or is she....

Libra, I don't know if your third person is still here or not. All I know is that you and Crowfarm have been going at each other since I have been here. Why don't you both just ignore each other? Life's to short... what's that saying? Don't sweat the petty things .. and don't pet the sweaty things..LOL Doc

Everytime I see this it keeps reminding me of this song by Twisted Sister.
We're not gonna take it
No we ain't gonna take it
We're not gonna take it anymore
We've got the right to choose
And there ain't no way we'll lose it
This is our life, this is our song
We'll fight the powers that be just
don't pick our destiny cause
You don't know us, you don't belong
We're not gonna take it
No we ain't gonna take it
We're not gonna take it anymore
Oh you're so condescending
Your gall is never ending
We don't want nothin'
Not a thing from you
Your life is trite and jaded
Boring and confiscated
If that's your best
Your best won't do
About the haircut. It doesn't leave a good impression to the poor and homeless that he spends that much on a haircut. Think about it. You talk about your reduction in pay and he spends that much.
That's exactly what I'm talking about. Petty nonsense. Believe it or not, the homeless and poor (many of whom were put there by the current administration) could care less about what Kerry spent on a haircut. They have other more important things to worry about. I see and talk to the homeless on a regular basis and trust me. . .they don't give a crap. They're far more intelligent and resourceful than given credit for.
I don't care if Kerry spent a fortune on a haircut or if Bush bought his last pair of underwear at Macies. I don't care if Kerry can ride a bike without falling off and I don't care if Bush can't ride and not fall off. Those are meaningless observations, IMO. If you want to get technical, they both are penny-wise and pound foolish. I think at least there, they are on an even playing field as are most of the wealthy in this country. It's nothing new so stop making it sound like it's an amazing new revelation. The wealthy have long been wasteful.
We're far too close to the elections to continue the kindergarten game of who's the biggest tattle taler. I have no clue what Bush's campaign promises are. I don't think he's even "made them up" yet. He's still waiting for the approval of the rest of his administration before he opens his mouth. So, until the debates start and the issues are raised, it would be nice if the board could go back to being a place where mature adults gather.
Countdown to vacation - ONE more day!!! Just checked the weather and we're camping right inbetween two cold fronts. How lucky is that? We've had more cold fronts this summer around here than I can ever remember. I've had to use a blanket at night almost this entire month. Last night I had to wear a sweatshirt around the house. Should be a beautiful and early fall! With all the moisture and cool nights, the colors on the leaves should be spectacular this year!
