I gave it up a couple of years back. Switched from regular coffee to decaf and from regular Diet Pepsi to the Caf. Free variety. This was a sudden, overnight switch, I didn't ease off gradually.

Once I got used to the taste of the decaf drinks, that was all there was to it. I like Caffeine free pop and coffee just fine now. It's just a change, it's not like I really had to give anything up. Once in a while at a restaraunt, I'll have "real" coffee and it doesn't affect me, but if I drink too much of the real stuff (more than three cups), I get a headache.

Within two or three DAYS of the switch, I noticed I was sleeping better and was constipated less (more than you wanted to know, but it DID make a difference). I also started having fewer headaches- this was a I problem I had and didn't even realize it till they stopped.

Was I moody or grouchy? I dunno - None of my employees said a peep about it... Sometimes it's good to be King

I didn't develop any physical side-effects like shakiness or anything. Maybe I'm a unique case, but it really wasn't a big deal- far easier than I expected.

Now if I could just stay on a diet for more than two week ;(

Why in the world would you want to give up coffee?? Caffeine is good. Caffeine is life. Not all addictions are bad you know.

Caffeine is good for you. That's why you have a headache when you stop using it.

I don't remember any increased drowsiness, but I got an awful headache, when I quit caffeine cold turkey.

"Not all addictions are bad you know."

Although I don't drink caffeine, I agree with Prof's statement.

i like to take my coffee with cream and sugar or rather faux sugar.
But my memory is not so good anymore and i blame it on the sweet-low i have been using for many years.
I dont want to go back to sugar so i am now trying to quit coffee in the morning.
Anyway, for those of you who suffer from acid reflux or GERD,caffeine would loosen the LES.
And then one more thing-my home brew coffee does not taste that great anyway.

Lately they are starting to blame caffine on all kinds of ailments. Then, other study's they say it does some good. Probably in moderation its not ral harmful.

Nothing that tastes good is good for you - that's what I've realized.
