Just for a moment, let's think about the future and what it holds for American Presidential elections. There is a possibility we could see a Hillary Clinton vs. Arnold "The Terminator" Schwarztenegger ticket in the near future. A superstar of politics vs. a superstar of the big screen.
Speculation for the Republicans if they can get a constitutional amendment passed to allow a non-American born 30 year American citizen to run for president. Sure, this is all speculation, but for fun here are two questions...
1) Who could you see run as Vice President for each candidate.
2) Who would you vote for.
So, my answer would be...
1) Hillary Clinton/Barack Obama vs. Arnold/Giuliani
2) My vote would go to the Clinton Obama ticket.

Wrong: Arnold can not even run for President since he was not born in the US.

Plenty of time to change that if Bush wins. If he'd support something as silly as an amendment that speaks to marriage, I have no doubt he'll support the one Arnold wants to see happen. All for the good of the people, of course...

profe,
I hope that does not happen. It has been a "tradition" for over 200 years why should we change it just because one person wants something he can't have.
If we let Arnold be President, the next thing we know Osama will want to run for President.

logan,
"If we let Arnold be President, the next thing we know Osama will want to run for President."
I couldn't have thought of a better one myself. I think the religious right would say something to this affect.......
Once Arnold does, then what's stopping all Arnolds from running? Including Arnold Ziffel, the pig from Green Acres.

Good one Logan!!
Yeager, I remember Arnold the pig wore mascara so he might have been a cross dresser or gay. That shouldn't be allowed. Not yet.

He would fit right in as a politician. His first act would be to raise taxes to fund his pork projects.

logan,
Pork barrel projects. Another good one.
kraft,
I think that you are on the pigs trying to gain civil rights. They should go slow on this. Plus, the cows will want civil rights too. Then the complete farm industry will be in shambles.
If you don't believe me, then ask any conservative. They will tell you it's a fast, downhill slippery slope when things start changing.

Getting back on the subject here. What can Aronld Swartzanegger offer to the office that any natural born citizen can't? The answer is nothing.

I haven't read anywhere that Republican's are seeking a change to our Constitution in this area. Arnold made a FANTASTIC speech at the RNC convention, but I don't see the more moderate republicans as being overly accepting of his platforms. Nor do I see that they value him so much as to go to this extreme measure [changing the Const.]
Plus the only way hillary could run/win is if kerry isn't elected. Think about that. And in 2012 she'll then be how old? I don't see it happening and think that's also why some dems don't want to see kerry win this election. They have plans for her in 2008. Speculation about under-currents in the dem party say they don't want to see kerry elected for this reason.
Even though they appear to be supporting his presidency.
