From George W. Bush, on Wicca, one of the oldest religions in the world.
I don't think witchcraft is a religion. I would hope the military officials would take a second look at the decision they made." G.W. Bush (R), as Governor of Texas. Interviewed on ABC's Good Morning America, 1999-JUN-24. He disapproved of Wiccan soldiers being given the same religious rights as others in the military.
From George H. W. Bush (R) as Presidential Nominee for the Republican party; 1987-AUG-27 on Atheists.
"No, I don't know that Atheists should be considered as citizens, nor should they be considered patriots. This is one nation under God."

In the last debate with John Kerry, Bush was asked about his religious faith by the moderator. Bush said that he has a strong faith and prays for guidance and "feels" the prayers of others. He also said that has the utmost respect for people who practice other religions, whatever that religion may be. He indicated that every American has the right to practice whatever religion they feel is best for them.
What a liar Bush is!!

EAG says,
You are some sick puppies. Get some help!
That's a pretty basic comment. Why do you feel that way? Can you explain your comment with more detail and why you might have the need to make it?
As far as me making my comments about Bush 1 & 2, they are/were public officials when they made those comments. As a citizen, I have the right to scrutinize their comments.

I think a lot of people misunderstand what "wtchcraft" is. After decades of "Bewitched" and "Sabrina" reruns and halloween costumes, the term "witchcraft" really is hard to take seriously as a religion.
If they had asked him about "Wicca" he probably would have given a more satisfactory answer. I think most people do realize it's a religion.
It was a dumb thing for him to say, but understandable.
