Why shouldn't it be legalized?

If it would be, then the prostitutes would have to undergo periodic physical examinations to make sure they did not contact or pass any disease. I would be in favor of that.

Why do you ask KD, thinking about opening a brothel .

1) There are health benefits
2) There are crime-reduction benefits
3) There are safety-abuse benefits
4) There are tax revenue benefits

Oh, you said arguments AGAINST it...

Did anyone watch the Canal Street Brothel? There didn't seem to be any crime associated with that only that prostitution wasn't legal. Did the cities crime rate go up because of them? Probably the divorce rate didn't either. The neighbors didn't even know anything was going on in that house. and either did the police until that physician who frequented it turned them in. I guess it is a matter of opinion.

Prostitution has been around for a long time and I doubt it will ever go away. It was very evident in Hawaii during WWII.

I'd like to Libra. I'd give them all a sedative, then when they came to, I'd tell them all how great they were and send them on their way. I just have no idea what to charge?? Twelve goes to them all the time - what's the ho-ing rate, Twelve?

Why shouldn't it be legalized?

Because it is evil in the eyes of the lord, and we can't go legalizing stuff that god doesn't like. That's why.

Sweet cream ladies, forward march;
The world owes you a living
Sweet cream ladies, do your part,
Think of what you're giving
To the lost and lonely people of the night
Out of need, they seek direction for their life
They will love you in the darkness,
Take advantage of your starkness,
And refuse to recognize you in the light

Sweet cream ladies, forward march;
Think what you're providing
Sweet cream ladies, show your starch;
What's the use of hiding?

Tell the socialites to look the other way;
It's instinctive stimulation you convey
It's a necessary function,
Meant for those without compunction,
Who get tired of vanilla every day

Sweet cream ladies forward march;
Puritans ignore them
Sweet cream ladies do their part;
Sweet cream men adore them
Let them satisfy the ego of the male
Let them fabricate success to those who fail,
And should penalties pursue them,
When there’s really credit due them,
They might keep a simple fellow out of jail!

Sweet cream ladies, forward march.
Sweet cream ladies, forward march.
Sweet cream ladies, forward march.
Sweet cream ladies, forward march.

isn't it legal within the city limits of Las Vegas? The pros have to have regular health screenings?

"That reminds me of that circus act Jimmy Swaggart put on with the streams of tears and the quivering bottom lip when he asked for forgiveness from visiting prostitutes. Who didn't laugh?"

Kraft it was especially funny when Saturday Night Live did a spoof on him on Church Chat. There he was quivering and sniveling away. He said the he let god down. the church lady replied, "seems that you let your pants down too."

Who didn't laugh. Probably linda k. That would be making fun of people of faith.

Yes, Jimmy is Jerry cousin. Jerry also married his cousin. Her age at the time was 13 I believe.

Also, I don't think it would ever be legalized completely in this country. Pat and Jerry would rally the troops to counter every move that worked towards it.

IMO, it should be legalised but then as I allways say, why pay for it when you can get it for free. The ho-ing rate, Kraftdinner, I believe starts out at $20.00 and goes up from there depending on the type of service requested.

If it gets legalised then sales tax would have to be charged and then the girls would have to be able to make change and take credit cards and if the customer so desired he would be able to use his debit card and get cash back.

Then theres all the accesories that would have to be charged extra for, like different colored rubbers, with or without ribbing on the rubbers, lubed or unlubed, there's even flavored rubbers and don't get me started on all the different types of butt-plugs, handcuffs and other bondage implements used in conjunction with the services rendered. (yes some people are into that stuff, or so I hear)

Then you'd have to find out which girls are members of the Better Business Bureau and if you had to lodge a complaint for poor service, boy that would just get in to a whole new set of problems.

The girls would have to have city, county and state business licenses along with a federal tax id number. They would have to be insured for liability. I mean you know, slip out and fall claims could skyrocket the prices for services because of all the lawsuits from injuries.

Then there's the pimps to contend with and all of their concerns. Some concerns would be valid and others would have to be worked through using independant mediators and fees charged for these types of services which will drive the prices up.

And then before you know it someone would start a union and they'd come up with some sort of a union label to be tattooed on each members buttt

No, I think that on second thought it would be better not to legalise it, legalising it would take all the fun out of it. Who started this thread anyways?

I say legalize it.

It would be the first job many Democrats ever had.

It would at least get the Dems. off welfare and unemployment.

I think it is a good idea,have any of you seen the movie Original sin,turn of the century Cuba before Castro??
It is a sad business,but more exciting than being a sales clerk at Sally May beauty supply store or working at Walmart as an associate.
Risk and reward,a prostitute can make more than a Walmart associate.

It is not legal in CLark county Nevada, where Las Vegas is located.

I think they should legalize it... but there would have to be some points to consider...

I think it should not be legaized. It is disrespectful to treat the women/men as objects. What does this say to the children of America? How does this help foster family values the right is so desperrately wanting to force on America?

Q. What's the difference between the Vietnam War and the Iraq War?

A. George W. Bush had a plan to get out of the Vietnam War.

Now wait a minute.

You're all for allowing same sex couples to have sex. But if a man wants to pay a woman to do what comes naturally you think it should be illegal?

So NOW you feel the government should enforce morality?

I would jump up and down and call you a hypocrite, but I'm the one one spewing Christian morality all the time, and I think prostitution SHOULD be legal. I guess this is one of those rare times we are BOTH being hypocrites.

They have some sayings in the south that go like this, or so I heard;

1) If she's old enough to pee, she's old enough for me.

2) Incest is best.

3) 8 to 80, blind crippled crazy.

And the definition of a virgin in the south is an ugly 8 year old that can outrun her 4 brothers.

They were just jokes, Stopwining and the oldest profession is a Baker. The prostitutes had to eat to get their strength to be able to walk the streets. Where do you think the term "tarts" that is used to describe such women came from?

It's no wonder so many prostitutes turn to drug use....I can't imagine anything more horrible than having sex with some creepy stranger and degrading myself in that way only for easy money. I'm sure with some it's the other way around too. They have a drug habit and they need big money to buy it...so they lower themselves and will do whatever is requested by whomever...for money.

I know it's gone on since the beginning of time...and it will continue. But to legalize it, is to condone it in my eyes...and I would vote no. I'm sure EVERYONE here is surprise by my answer. LOL
