Apparently most of you mainlanders haven't heard of Hurricane Daniel but it is off the coastal waters of Hawaii. According to the weather folks it is the first major storm to hit Hawaii from the West since the late 1800's. Yesterday it was downgraded to a tropical storm and it is currently about 300 miles from Maui, so we're supposed to be hunkering down here. It was gray and weird this morning but the sun is shining bright right now like usual. If it weren't for the brutal winds I would never guess there was a storm scheduled to hit us later this afternoon or by morning at the latest.
Anyway, I haven't been on much lately so aloha to you all and I'm off to buy grass seed so my lawn gets nice and green when the rains come, lol

I hope it veers off, or downgrades. Good Luck, and we'll be thinking good thoughts!
You know the one thing I am noticing different right now aside from the wind is the lack of birds. Normally there are birds everywhere, in every tree, on the lawn, etc... but I'm looking out the window right now and don't see one blasted bird. Hmmm
Still sunny tho, at least on our side of the island...I can see some big thick clouds on the other side from here...

K-Cat I'll say a prayer for you that it passes you by. A hurricane passed over our house last year but fortunately it wasn't too bad, uprooted a few trees but we were very lucky and had very little damage. The noise the howling wind makes is a little eerie though, especially with no lights. The first thing that goes down here is the power. Hope you got lots of food, water and candles.

Well, the schools were closed today since we're still under tropical storm warning... and everyone is saying that it hasn't hit us yet... I thought last night was it... sigh... wish it would just be over and done with, I have bushes to plant!
