Probably won't ever happen...not in this backwards country BUT...

Wouldn't it be hilarious to see the neocons trying to choose between Hillary and a BLACK WOMAN....HA!!! that would put their knickers in a twist

As to Condosleeza....sure why not have another born liar. She's such a puppet that it would be just another Bush.

You know Crow, I would love to see Hillary as President.. but I can't say the same for Condi, and not because she is Republican... but because in my opinion she is Bush's sock puppet. I don't think we have ever seen who Condi Rice really is, other than just a yes man for Bush.

Hillary has also said, "No". I heard it on the news this morning. She has no interest in becoming president. Geesh, would you want to be president and have to clean up this mess in 2008?

I wouldn't vote for Condi. And as Maggie stated, it's not just because she's a republican. We have no idea who the real Condi is. I just don't see any backbone in her at all.

"Hillary Clinton VS Condoleezza Rice for President of the USA in 2008"

Would it be too late to vote for Kerry at that stage?

Even IF the USA is ready for a woman president, the rest of the world isn't. I don't think the "Black" part of this situation is nearly as critical as the "Woman" part. Half the world still treats women as little more than slaves. If you think Bush has creted a loss of respect for the USA, try this situation and see where things go.

3rd World Dictator: "Women are WEAK and STUPID I tell You! They won't retaliate! Attack the infidels!"

Nope. The WORLD is just not ready.

Of course Condi supports her 'boss' - that's her job. I seriously doubt ANYONE who was in constant disagreement with their boss would keep their job very long. She was his advisor....does that mean nothing to anyone here?

But she does *not* hold all the exact same positions as he does. They disagree in two areas that I'm aware of...abortion and affirmative action.

I believe the US is now ready for a woman president....but I agree, a lot of the world isn't.

But between Condi and hillary? Condi would win...hands down.

I'm sorry, but Condi has bigger hills to climb that Hillary. Just by virtue of being African American, she'd have a tough, tough road. Add the fact that she's a woman and I just don't see it happening. Not yet. There is still ample discrimination in this country. While I'd like to see a woman become president, I just honestly don't think this country is ready yet. There's still more work to be done. There are still far too many people who think a woman's job is to stay home and care for her family. Unfortunately, those are the people raising their collective voices now.

Maggie. Indira Ghandi and Margaret Thatcher held reasonably relevant positions of power. But all those others... Who cares? The president of Latvia was a woman? LATVIA?

Whatever.

The point is still that the most important, most powerful country in the world (USA) has still never had a woman President. And the #2 most important, most powerful country in the world (China) would have no respect whatever for a woman President.

If it comes down to a choice between keeping China's respect (and fear), or making a "progressive" choice by voting for a woman. I'll stick with the more acceptible male candidate.

It's not right, I admit it. But that's the real world.

Women have come a long way. But it's not time for this yet.

Replay.... I know that there is truth in what you say...sadly.. It is so damn hard to conceive in todays age that women are still not regarded equal to men...and what makes it even sadder is that it isn't only males who hold this belief, but a great percent of the female gender as well...

Cheryl - I disagree. Bet that surprises you.

Rice HAS proven herself. She's extremely well educated and has served as this Preident's 'right hand lady'....for what will be eight years by then.

And I don't believe color really would have a whole lot to do with it now-a-days. There are already more and more 'black' voters voting the Republican ticket in the past two National elections....I'd only see that being a positive/plus to her ability to win even more of the black vote away from the democratic party.

But hillary has way too much baggage, Rice doesn't. That's what I think her biggest 'plus' would be...along with more of the country wanting a more 'centralist' president...not one as liberal as hillary. And that's why, imo, we're now watching hillary move more and more to the center....she KNOWS that's a problem.

BS, the rest of the world has had and known women leaders and are much more sophisticated about it than the regressive backwards U S............
So you think CHINA would be influenced by our president's sex....ha! Sorry to disappoint you but they're much smarter than that...they know that their leader does not personally ARM WRESTLE our leader when it comes to disputes .....

see the neocons trying to choose between Hillary and a BLACK WOMAN...

What a racist thing to say, cf! The neocons, as you call them have already elevated a 'black' woman in their party. Its obviously the ones like you who see a problem with it based on color and gender.

Whoa dblefugged, if you only knew how funny it was for you to try to paint ME as a racist!!

I say "try" because I said nothing racist. I stated a fact.......neocons do prefer white males ..always have always will. Oh ya, they throw in a token to show how "liberal" they are but most see right through that....kinda on the level of bush trying to speak Spanish....what a joke!

REALISTS (and political analysts)see the problems based on gender and color....I never said I wouldn't vote for a woman or a person of color because they were female or black....did I ?????????.

AND, why did you accuse me of saying something racist but not sexist.....are you sexist ? Well , you must be and that's as bad as racist.

Hillary Clinton VS Condoleezza Rice for President of the USA in 2008!

I know Rice has already said no, but did not hear Hillary has declined yet. Hillary may not run for President but I think she will probably be on the Democratic ticket as VP.

Absolute faith has been shown, consistently, to breed intolerance. And intolerance, history teaches us, again and again, begets violence.

That is NOT a FACT, crowsh*!! How do you know that is a fact - where it is documented? No, it is a PERCEPTION that people like YOU hold and push and talk because that's what YOU see and you think everyone else see's it that way. Color first, character later. And by saying someone is a "token" youre not knocking republicans, you're ranking people of color as worth nothing more than that. Maybe its time you admit to your own racists beliefs as to why you so easily attribute them to others.

Dble, your post is pathetic...it is so obvious an attempt to make me look like a racist just because you don't like me.

This is stupid and you know it.

Maybe you could explain the grammar in this:

""Maybe its time you admit to your own racists beliefs as to why you so easily attribute them to others. "

And , you obviously don't know anything about history. The word "token" is , and was, used to denote a person who was used or hired to make it look like the user or company was not discriminating. There were "token" women and "token" people of color even "token" disabled peopled. The word in no way was a slur against those individuals.

The world didn't start the day you were born.

As a neutral party, I haven't seen ANYTHING posted to this thread yet that I would consider either sexist or racist.

Certainly there are references to both mindsets, but that's completely relevent and realistic considering the topic.

Women and Blacks are discriminated against, that's a reality. It's hardly racist or sexist to discuss the situation in a realistic manner.

In your weaken senile state do you think you're strong enough to get past it?

Sorry, Replay, sexism is rife in here:
Witness how women are expected by some to talk "nice" while the "men" say anything they want.

""mess our country is in""

America is a great country full of opportunities and rights like no other country. I wish the negitive "left" would catch the first boat to China and you will find out what a "mess" really is.

Be positive, think positive and quite the "when can I come out from under my bed" thinking and possibly you will have a chance of regaining the respect and confidence of the American people.
