Why is it when people post on a discussion board they're frequently told to get a life? Do the people telling them to get a life have a better life, and if so, in what ways?

No, I doubt they have a better life. Usually they're a tad jealous of the life the other one seems to have....... sort of like penis envy.
One expression I'm getting to hate that's used way too frequently here is "Get over yourself".

Right Kiara. I like when after someone asks a question and you answer, they call you a know-it-all, then tell you to get over yourself.
Let's not forget the hoards of posts telling the democrats to get over things... Bush won, even though nobody ever mentioned it.

Often heard on Usenet, especially as a way of suggesting that the target is taking some obscure issue of theology too seriously. Fenix, Twisted Sisters reminds me of how many times some have got confused over me and Kraftdinner just because our names start with a K and we're both a bit twisted.
And how about when someone else is posting all day steady on every thread and is an authority on every topic and I post to only one thread and they have the gall to accuse me of being a tag-along? What's up with that?

I don't see that anyone is calling for anyone's blood........ just some having a few smiles and others getting way too serious and trying to make a big deal out of nothing.

I'm truly sorry I posted an article about a big truck now on the market and that it upset some here and they thought it was sexual.
I'm truly sorry if I told others it was time to forget about Clinton's blow job and that the president is now Bush and that those words upset them.
And I'm truly sorry but I have no recollection of posting about see-thru underwear. Was I wearing it?
