This week, I read a newspaper column obviously written from the talking points of the far Left. These points have been created in order to breed hatred of President Bush, his Republican Administration and all it has done to stop terrorism.

This type of malicious propaganda is being spread across America, not just in letters to the editor and in opinionated news stories in the mainstream media, but it is also being written into many Hollywood movie and TV scripts. Perhaps Joe McCarthy is not the villain we think he was when he complained, back in the early fifties, that the Communists had infiltrated Hollywood.

In my newspaper, a former academician had written, in essence, that Bush had lied about Iraq, that he is responsible for the thousands of deaths in the Middle East and should be impeached or brought to trial. He wrote, President Bush “couldn’t be more directly responsible for the estimated 100,000 lost lives.… Our psyches cannot process this daily Iraqi carnage…”

My answer to this Antonio Gramsci inspired teacher, and other far-left professors or columnists, is as follows:

Without an oasis of freedom in the heart of the Middle East, we would have had no place to fight the civilian terrorist thugs who want to kill all infidels. They would be over here, in America, doing their damage and carnage. Remember, it is easy for civilians to enter here across our northern or southern borders. Remember, too, that we are not fighting a military -- a uniformed army; we are trying to stop criminal gangs who gather from many countries to murder us.

They would prefer to do this not on a battlefield, but in our restaurants, our theatres, our stadiums, and our schools.

Is it not better that we fight them on their turf, rather than here where their suicide-bomber vehicles could leave our American cities in ruins, perhaps for years with radioactive explosives, or where these vicious enemies would trod roughshod over the dead bodies of our innocent American men, women and children as these terrorists took a theatre, church or a school group hostage. They have done this in other countries. If the bloody train attack in Spain were tried in a New York or other major city subway, would this be better than keeping them occupied in their Middle East territory?

The columnist feels sorry for our “psyches processing the war.”

Well, my psyche could not process Saddam’s rape and torture rooms, the cut off hands and tongues, the mutilated bodies, the graves of the hundreds of thousands of dead bodies that he had buried in the desert, some of them alive. Many were killed by poison gas attacks from a WMD.

My psyche was healed, though, by the eight million Iraqi men and WOMEN who braved death threats to march through the bomb-shattered streets to vote for freedom --- their smiles and ink-stained fingers held up proudly as they returned home!

President Bush never lied to us; he repeated rightly what international intelligence and many European leaders had learned. He was also wise to establish a “listening post” in the center of the Middle East, since the Church Committee and earlier Democrat Administrations had succeeded in decimating our CIA by dropping most overseas human intelligence. President Bush was also smart in choosing Iraq as the shoehorn to gain a presence in the Middle East!

Just as Harry Truman saved lives by dropping the atomic bomb; George W. Bush has saved lives by going into Iraq and maintaining his doctrine of strength.

To keep our country strong, we as American citizens have to become more aware of the fiction that is sometimes passed off as truth, the lies that aid and abet our enemies. When we see such propaganda, let us not be silent. Please write or phone the producers, networks, editors or advertisers so that the media and Hollywood do get the message that we are patriotic people who believe in supporting this land of freedom and preserving the culture that made this country great.

We patriots have represented the majority of American citizens in the past. Do we still? We will know soon.

Hilarious !

SO why didn't he say so BEFORE HE INVADED?
He was establishing a "listening post"...ya, right, never heard that before he went to war....er....before he sent OTHERS to fight for him.
Shoehorn? What shoehorn?

No, these are new excuses to add to the list of "we went to war because" which changes every time another lie is exposed.

If you all think going to war under false pretenses, sending thousands to their graves, all to remove one man, is a-ok, something's wrong. As for hating Bush, I've haven't heard anyone here say that, but of course hating his lying and policies must mean you hate the person, knowing how people think here.

Carry on with your propaganda, Bear.

No, they won't win.

But you know your article brought up the name of Antonio Gramsci...as did mine in the open mind thread. funny.

yours:
My answer to this Antonio Gramsci inspired teacher, and other far-left professors or columnists, is as follows:

mine:
Communist philosopher in particular, Italian political theorist Antonio Gramsci, observed in the early 1900s that Marxism's best hope of defeating the West lay in undermining that society's Judeo-Christian heritage of thought.

I have read repeatedly that something like 95% of college professors are liberals. But imo this guy is just a little more left than liberals are - to say the least. And IF he has a large group of these liberal professors who are 'inspired' by this guy and are teaching our children this trash....then we are in bigger trouble as a nation that I ever thought.

KD in case you forgot. Bush didn't go to war the congress voted on it. Bush can't do anything unless congress okays something. That is called checks and balances.

How conviently the left(outs) forget that Pres Bush was ENFORCING a UN resolution when we entered Iran, Saddam had ample opportunity to lay down arms but chose not to.

But I guess craw would prefer to see a suicide bomber in her little town or around the corner in St Paul.

details....details...details...

The left here doesn't care about details, facts or the truth...they live in their own little 'anti-Bush' world. Forget protecting our Nation...from threats clinton also saw...made many statements about...forget what THE UN THEY so worship said saddam need to do NOW....nope....deny all the details...facts...truths.

Libra, you don't feel that Congress was feeling just a wee bit intimidated because of 911, coupled with false information about imminent threat of a nuclear attack?

Linda & Bear, again, the left isn't upset at Saddam being ousted, they're upset because they were lied to about the reasons for going to war against the country of Iraq to get Saddam. Why is that so hard to understand for some?

kraft, do you think there is a difference in being lied to and being misinformed by the intelligence they had thus far gathered?
Or was this a giant conspiracy too? If so we will have to wait for the memo leak or the deep rectal one to come out with it

Double, I think when a person exaggerates known intellegence to fit their agenda, which was justification for an invasion of a country, it makes the leader look weak instead of strong. I really believe while Bush is President, the U.S. will be at war, if not with Iraq, it'll be North Korea, which will leave the next President with a royal mess on their hands. And all for what? Osama? Saddam? Kim? Peace? What?

Grown men intimidated then they shouldn't be in congress... Congress needs congressmen that can think for themselves not play follow the leader.

Based on the above statement, there should be more Democrats in Congress because Republicans are sock puppets who blindly follow their leader, Bush. They helped get Bush re-elected, now that there is no chance Bush getting re-elected for a third time, the Republicans are speaking freely and voting against Bush's plans.

Absolute faith has been shown, consistently, to breed intolerance. And intolerance, history teaches us, again and again, begets violence.

President George Bush: "Over time the truth will come out."

President George Bush: "Our people are going to find out the truth, and the truth will say that this intelligence was good intelligence. There's no doubt in my mind."

Bush was right. The truth did come out and the facts are he misled Congress and the American people about the reasons we should go to war in Iraq.
