OK...I want to see just what kind of folks I hang out here with are like....so heres something to ponder
Say you go to a yard sale and find something you think just might bring in a tidy profit and you purchase it for 5 bucks. Now, say you list it on ebay for 25.00, thinking you might get it, and would be happy if you did, but would be even happy with 15 bucks as high bid. Now, to your surprise, it sells for 3 grand. Money is paid, item shipped off, everyone is happy. You remember what yard sale you bought if from. Would you go back to that yard sale and give the people who sold it to you with some funds as a surprise, or would you consider it their loss, your gain?
Myself, I would go knock on the door and hand them a goodly sum (if it sold for 3 grand and I paid 5, I would probably give them 100 to 500 bucks depending on their circumstances.
What would you do, if anything?

hmmmm, this certainly is a timely ponderment.....
In my mind, I would probably WANT to give them something, but I would be hesitant to actually do that because I would fear that they would claim that I knew that I was buyin' a $3,000 item for $5, thus taking advantage of them....& well, we all know now where that could lead!....But it would depend on the circumstances & the folks from whom I purchased the item....
I do purchase items at a few church run thrifts (where I ALWAYS round up my tab as a donation)...If that situation occured with one of the purchases from these places, I would make a donation....
Now, let me throw a ponderment back attcha.....If you sold the item for $3,000 (way beyond your wildest dreams) how do you arrive at the amount that you would give back to the seller?? (NOT an attack, just a point of curosity in my own mind).....
