Why do some constantly try to tell others what another poster believes in, who they are or where they're from, etc...... sometimes even going so far as to make things up and skewer the truth about them or their beliefs?
Who are they trying to impress? Do they assume that others can't think for themselves when they read these boards and form their own judgement of others according to how they see them post?

Bear, please show me proof of where I have fabricated stories about others and their beliefs and then taken it upon myself to keep speaking for them and about them and telling others over and over what that person believes in.

Okay, here's an example. I asked Bear a question and Linda_k steps in and answers for him, the same thing she did when I asked Libra63 a question the other day.
Each and everytime you've personally said something about me, my actions, my feelings or my beliefs, that aren't true...I'm stated back to you that your 'crystal ball' is broken again, kiara.
But that's when you and I get into it, Linda_k and I'm talking directly to you because you're doing the same thing back to me at the same time.
I'm talking about the incidents when a poster joins in on a topic and then someone else takes it upon themselves to announce to everyone where they think that poster lives or what they think they believe in or don't believe in, support or not support......... many times being wrong or slightly confused about it.
Wouldn't it be better to allow that person to just speak for themselves and let others judge them from their own comments?

Well...kiara, the way I see this is that you don't comprehend the concept of our 'right' to free speech in our country.
I've tried explaining it to you many times, but you just don't get it. Then yesterday, in total frustration I suggested you speak to helen about what it means to her, maybe you would better understand it coming from her.
But you refused to do so.
Your choice. But that is what many of your complaints are about. OUR freedom, here in the US, to say what we want....without the censorship you appear to wish there was here.

I understand free speech, Linda_k as they also have that in other countries besides the US.
And I didn't want to burden Helen with the task of trying to interpret your posts. Besides, I don't think she tries to speak for others.
Perhaps I'm having difficulty understanding why some would choose to fabricate stories about others and try to speak for them and then hide under the fact that it's 'free speech'?
Who are they trying to impress and what do they hope to gain? Do they feel threatened by the beliefs that the person voices for himself?

kiara - It appears to me that you are unwilling to state just who you think THEY are.
Are you referring to crowfarm's posts where she goes around lying about others, their statements, their feelings, or are you back into projecting your own actions onto others.
Like you can see it in them, but can't see the same actions in your own posts?

Linda_k, I'm talking about people in general. There are always some that take it upon themselves to try to speak for everyone or announce to everyone who they think another person is or what they believe in and even make up stories about them. Some people will do it on occasion or make a mistake, but some choose to do it constantly or will choose select people to do it to.
I'm just wondering why they would do it and if it's because they possibly feel threatened by that person's beliefs or if they are afraid that others may change their beliefs if they hear that person speak for himself?

See kiara...maybe you haven't noticed it before...but WE live in America....and here we enjoy the Constitutional RIGHT of free speech. I'm sure you understand....that applies to all...not just visiting Canadians.
I asked you what your point was because I didn't know what you were talking about with the 'visiting Canadians' comment or who they were and what that had to do with the conversation.
Then you told me to ask Helen and that she could explain it to me. I didn't see that Helen had anything to do with it and why you couldn't explain it to me.
Sorry, I must have missed something. Does Helen have some visitors from Canada?
