I'm computer illiterate. I know enough to buy and sell on ebay, but I don't even use this thing to place games with.
So, when I couldn't get on the internet one day, I called my provider "braintwist" and asked if they were experiencing down time.
They said they weren't and then had me doing all sorts of things to my computer to "fix" it. This computer is only 6 months old. I should have hung up, I know that now.
I told them that my husband had our two computers networked together, and I was worried that what they had me doing was going to harm that.
They said no worries. I'm so ignorant, I believed they knew what to do.
Well, when they got done, I still couldn't get online, and my network was down.
My DH is really mad at me for listening to them. Now he can't get the network to re-install. We've tried for days.
Does anyone know where I can go to find out what they did and how I can fix this? Someplace that might have a step by step for making all the settings right?
My DH is pretty smart, but he can't figure out what I did, and I don't KNOW what I did.

Victoria,
Sorry I can't help you with your problem. The best I can do is offer you some milk and cookies to make you feel better. I hope it all works out for you...

Click your "START" tab on your taskbar (bar at bottom,) click on "HELP," enter "NETWORK" as the keyword for search.
If the problem is not hardware failure, you should be able to track down the problem using the "help" program.
After you get everything working again, run to the nearest store or purchase online the program "Go Back."
Program is easy to install and use. after instalation you can relax at the keyboard. If you glitch the 'pute, or a crash occurs, you install a troublesome program, virus hits you, etc., just tell Go Back to take the 'pute back to a point before the problems occurred.
Sets up on a 4 day default but you can set it to go back further. Won't go back and reinstall system if program was not on computer at time of problem.
